Last weekend, the Casino of Tangier hosted the Tangier Poker Million, a live poker tournament that starts to the have success among poker enthusiasts from Morocco and France. ACF: Satellites tournaments for the WPT Grand Prix of Paris
It remains only a few days before the kickoff of the World Poker Tour Grand Prix of Paris. A new stage of the eleventh season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has just begun in Los Angeles. This is the WPT Legends of Poker. EPT Barcelona: Mikalai Pobal won face to 1,082 participants
The opening stage of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Season 9 recorded a huge success. Indeed, the 5,300 main event attracted 1,082 participants generating a prize pool of 5,247,700. The tournament ended with the victory of the Belarus Mikalai Pobal. Aged 28, he won the big prize of 1,007,550 after having eliminated the online poker pro Ilari Sahamies during the final duel. Pobal expressed his happiness of having won the biggest trophy of his career as a professional poker player. The Finn, meanwhile, consoled for his defeat, with the prize for the runner-up amounting 629,700. He clearly increased his bankroll as he already finished 4th in the Super High Roller of 50,000.

EPT Barcelona: Polito as the best in the High Roller
Alongside the Main Event, the High Roller was since a few times a very interesting event in terms of prizepool at live poker tournaments and it attracts many professional players. The Grand Casino Barcelona hosted the High Roller of the EPT Barcelona, a tournament in which 101 players registered and 10 of them used the re-entry formula. EPT Season 9: Some changes brought to the stage of London and Berlin
The ninth season of the poker circuit European Poker Tour (EPT) has just begun. As previously announced, major changes were made to improve the tournament. In this context, the organizers decided to add some changes to the London stage and that of Berlin. About the EPT London which will run from March 6 to 16, 2013, it was announced that the main event of £ 5250 planned to be held from March 10 to 16, 2013 will take place at The Landmark Hotel. International Stadium Poker Tour: The tournament obtained its license
There is any other doubt, the first edition of the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) will take place from May 31 to June 6, 2013. The organizers have just been awarded the license that will let them implement the event at Wembley Stadium in London. As a reminder, the stadium will be transformed into a giant poker room where will take place online and live poker tournaments. If the organizers are able to achieve the goal they set, about 30,000 players will be there for the tournament. EPT Barcelona: Rodriguez chipleader of 24 survivors
Of the 61 entrants on Day 4 of the Main Event of the EPT Barcelona, only 24 players were qualified for the next round with Samuel Rodriguez as chipleader with a stack of 5,330,000 chips, it took only six hours to the majority of the field to be eliminated. Among the eliminated, the short stack of the day Matthias De Meulder was the first to leave this stage of the tournament. After a few levels, the elimination continued with those of Yuri Gulyy, Kevin Weiland, Konstantin Puchkov, Andrey Zaichenko, Zimnan Ziyard, Leo Margets, Daniel Rudd, Guy Thomas, Konstantin Streletskiy, Felix Kretchmann and Anatoly Gurtavoy. Poker: Enacted by the U.S. federal court as a game of skill
The statement made by Judge Jack B. Weinstein of Federal District Court in Brooklyn highlighting the fact that poker is a game of skill really delighted fans of online poker in the United States and the Poker Players Alliance. For the story, Judge Weinstein was appointed to investigate a case concerning a private poker game held in Staten Island. It turns out that the organizer collected 5% of profit from each player. For organizing a clandestine gambling, he risked ten years imprisonment. But the judge declared that he was not guilty by arguing that poker is not a game of chance but a "skill game". Thus, it is not affected by the regulations listed in the Illegal Gambling Business Act of 1970. Note that the judge take his decision based on various studies and analyzes carried out on one million hands of Texas hold'em. The fact that professional players have more chance to win than the least developed also proves that poker is a game requiring talent.

EPT Barcelona: 61 survivors after the Day 3, Antonin Duda leads
The European Poker Tour Barcelona welcomed on Wednesday the 207 survivors of the Day 2 to designate the remaining sixty players to continue the adventure in Barcelona. After five levels of play, the bubble burst for the ITM and the first eliminated player from the remaining 160 left with a gain of 8,400. Aliaksei Boika is the bubble boy for having failed at to enter in the cashes. Eliminations succeeded after that and at the end of the day, only 61 players had their tickets for the Day 4. Pravets Poker Masters: The 7th edition will take place from August 30 to September 2
The Riu Pravets Resort in Sofia, Bulgaria will host the 7th edition of the Pravets Poker Masters tournament from August 30 to September 2, 2012. This event will bring together many French poker pros. EPT Barcelona: Juanda lead for the Day 2
This Tuesday, August 20, 607 players were back at Gran Casino of Barcelona for the Day 2 but at the end of the day, 400 players were eliminated. After three days of the European Poker Tour in Barcelona, there are only 207 survivors of the 1,082 participants. The Day 3 will have as challenge the ITM because only 160 players will be rewarded. The last player entering in the money will gain about 8,400 and for the winner, he will walk away with 1,007,550 against 76,100 for the runner up. EPT Barcelona: 604 players qualified for the Day 2
After the Day 1A of Sunday, the Gran Casino of Barcelona hosted the second first day of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. The day registered a field of 670 players, while the first day drew 403. In all, the Day 1 brought together a field of 1,073 participants which is the second largest crowd in the history of the European Poker Tour after the EPT San Remo Season VI which was attended by 1,240 players. After eight levels of play, nearly half of the field was eliminated with only 378 survivors. In all, 604 players including 226 survivors of the Day 1A will join today the Gran Casino tables for the Day 2.

EPT Barcelona: Aku Joentausta, chipleader of the Main Event Day 1A

EPT Season 9: A prize to be awarded to the best high-roller player
As it was announced a few weeks earlier, significant changes have been brought to the 9th season of thet European Poker Tour (EPT). Among the most important is the organizing of several High-Roller tournaments available for a buy in more and more expensive. Indeed, during this new season of the EPT, 16 high-roller events will be in the program including the three Super-High Roller of 50,000 which will take place during the step of Barcelona, the PCA Bahamas and the EPT Monaco, the two tournaments of 25,000 of Bahamas and Monaco and the 10,000 high roller reload to be proposed at each stage of the EPT 2012.

British Poker Awards 2012: The nominees announced
The nominees for the next British Poker Awards ceremony are already unveiled. Ten different awards will be distributed during this great event scheduled to take place on September 17 on board of the boat HMS. There will be the title of the best player in tournament, the best online poker player, the best cash game player, the poker personality of the year, the best poker forum, the best British tournament, the best poker league, the best player on the international level as well as the title of player of the year. BPT Deauville: A beautiful deep stack tournament not to miss
As one of the events not to miss for French lovers of poker, the Barrière Poker Tour (BPT) will be in Deauville next weekend. It's effectively the seventh stage of the BPT 2012. WPT Merit Cyprus Classic: Erik Cajelais eliminated
The World Poker Tour Merit Cyprus Classic hosted as planned on Day 4 the 18 survivors of the previous three days. The chiplead changed constantly between poker players as Victor Paraschiv, Artur Voskanyan and Kiryl Radzivonau but finally, it's the winner of the Merit Middle East Poker Championship 2011, Ran Azor, who becomes the chipleader of the six survivors of the Day 4 with a stack of 2,405,000 chips. Behind Azor, we found side by side Artur Voskanyan and Marvin Rettenmaier with respectively a stack of 2,003,000 and 2,002,000. The remaining players of the final table has less than 2 million chips: Kiryl Radzivonau (1,865,000), Victor Paraschiv (1,115,000) and Joseph El Khoury (435,000). Many players have been eliminated but the most unlucky of the day was the chipleader at the start of the day, Erik Cajelais who fails a walk from the final table.

Texa Poker Series: A nice poker trip in Gruissan
At each of its editions, the Texa Poker Series is very successful. Indeed, the event brings together amateur and poker professional since a few times as Alain Roy, Jeremy Palvini and Jean Jacques Mars. Poker ranking: Marvin Rettenmaier is vying the GPI Player of the Year title
Marvin Rettenmaier just demonstrated once again that he is a very good poker player. He is effectively intending another trophy for the World Poker Tour (WPT). Indeed, after having won the WPT Championship at Bellagio in last May, he already aims a new title. At the latest news, the German managed to qualify for the final of the WPT Cyprus. WPT Merit Cyprus: Erik Cajelais, the chip leader at the end of Day 3
The WPT Merit Cyprus Classic brought together 327 participants during the first two days of entry, but after three days of competition, there were only 18 survivors for the title. The 53 survivors of Day 2 returned to Merit Crystal Cove Hotel & Casino for the Day 3 of four levels of 90 minutes and 30 minutes for the last. The challenge of the day is to qualify for the next round or at least to win a place in the ITM. The organizers of this poker tournament set 36 paid places with a minimum gain of $ 8,070, making a quarter of the field will leave the tournament without being paid. About the winner, he will walk away with a tidy sum of $ 287,784 and $ 184,020 for the runner up.

French online gambling: Many contributions to tax revenue

WPT Seminole Hard Rock: From September 7 to 16
While the inaugural stage of the season 11 of the World Poker Tour (WPT) which takes place in Cyprus didnt ended yet, the program of the Regional Series to be held in Tampa have been made public. The event will take place in the poker room of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa from September 7 to 16. Fifteen tournaments will be organized during the poker festival. Global Poker Index: Under the brand Zokay Entertainment
A few months earlier, the poker community asked questions about the future of the Global Poker Index (GPI) following the bankruptcy of its native society. Now, the problem seems to be set. Indeed, the GPI will be still updated because it has just been acquired by Zokay Entertainment after having been taken over by Pinnacle Entertainment for a long time. According to the CEO of Zokay Entertainment, Alexandre Dreyfus, the GPI is one of the best poker ranking systems. The selection criteria imposed in the selection of the 300 players who will be part of the ranking is very relevant and they are really worth the performance and levels of players. DeepStack Open Paris: From August 29 to September 2
A stage of the tournament Deepstack Open (DSO) will be held at Circle Cadet in Paris from August 29 to September 2, 2012. Genting Poker Series: Eminoglu win the title
Last Sunday, the 19 survivors of the poker tournament Genting Poker Series returned to Stoke Genting Casino for the last day of the Main Event in which nine players were selected to participate in the final table. Eliminations succeeded until only one player remained on the table. Yucel Eminoglu won the Genting Poker Series Stoke and joins previous winners of the three steps of the GPS, namely Ruslan Vlasov (GPS Star City), Albert Sapiano (GPS Fox London) and Paul McTaggart (GPS Edinburgh). During the fourth stage of the Genting Poker Series, the Turkish player was the best on a field of 482 players who registered for the Main Event of £ 430 buy-in generating a prize pool of £ 192,800.

Player of the Year ranking: Tommy Vedes accesses the top 10
During the first half of the year, many poker events succeeded. With their results in these tournaments, some players experienced a nice increase in the classification Player of The Year. Tommy Vedes is one of them. Indeed, winner of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock, Vedes had just completed a new exploit. He finished fourth during the Main event of $ 5,300 entry fee of the Florida State Poker Championship. Prop Bet: Mizrachi dissatisfied for not receiving his bonus
It became a habit for poker professionals to launch bets, also known as Prop Bet. This time, the game involved Michael Mizrachi, renowned for his ability to play poker and Giorgio Medici who is also a real pro in the game. Medicis effectively launch a bet with $ 100,000 at stake to Mizrachi before the kickoff of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The clause in the prop bet is Mizrachi wont win a bracelet. Genting Poker Series: Chung, chipleader at the start of Day 3
Since last Wednesday, poker enthusiasts from the United Kingdom met in Stoke for the Genting Poker Series. This season, the GPS has 7 steps that crisscross the kingdom since the beginning of February. After the stage of Star City (Birmingham), Southend and Edinburgh, the Genting Poker Series was calling in Stoke for the £ 430 buy-in Main Event generating a guaranteed prize pool of £ 800,000. WPT Merit Cyprus: Chino Rheem chipleader after the Day 1A
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Merit Cyprus began on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Note that this is the inaugural stage of the 11th season of the circuit. They were some 327 participants to have started the Main event accessible for $ 4,400 buy-in. The first day of competition was very eventful. And it turns out that the starting field dropped quickly because there are only 132 players vying for the rest of the competition. On Day 1A, the registered field was 163 participants, including top players such as Gaelle Baumann, Chris Moorman, Erik Cajelais, Marvin Rettenmaier, Daniel Cates and Nicolas Chouity. WSOP Circuit: A step in the Harrah's Cherokee in the calendar 2012-13
The organizers of the World Series of Poker Circuit had just unveiled the schedule 2012-2013 and the real novelty of this edition is the step of Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel in the program. From April 4 to 15, 2013, therefore, Harrah's Cherokee will be the host of the WSOP Circuit, one of the most popular tournaments inside local players in the United States. France: The Cercle Clichy Montmartre closed
The Cercle Clichy Montmartre, in Paris is obliged to cease its activities related to gambling since July 31 as its operating license was not renewed. Yet, it turns out that the gambling establishment that is located in Paris followed all of regulations. Indeed, the director of this institution offering poker was really surprised by that decision. He told that all senior and the team worked hard to provide to fans of poker and gambling a legal framework. The French authorities therefore indicated any malfeasance or association with organized crime networks, which was the reason of closure of the other gaming circles in the French capital. Note indeed that the Cercle Clichy Montmartre is the fourth game circle penalized in this way. The other institutions that have already been closed are Wargram, Haussmann and Eldo.

IPT San Remo: Meoni won the title and 180,000
The IPT San Remo, which took place in the poker room of the Casino of San Remo brought together 375 participants who generated a total prize pool of 727,500 which 180,000 was offered for the winner. After four days of competition, there were only nine players for the title race: Andrea Dato, Raffaele Bertolucci, Alessandro Meoni, Julien Norbert Dolay, Johnatan Maisonneuve, Giuseppe Zarbo, Nicolo Allisiardi and Omar Rodriguez. After a few hours of play, the IPT San Remo saw the coronation of Alessandro Meoni. The first player to have been eliminated by Meoni at the final table was Giuseppe Zarbo who, for his 8th place, received 14,000. A few minutes later, Julien Norbert Dolay ousted the French Jonathan Maisonneuve. A 7th place awarded with 21,000. Omar Rodriguez was the next on the list followed by Andrea Dato. Both players left the final table with gain of 29,000 and 36,000.

APT Macau: Carlos Chang, champion!
In recent years, Macau, the Las Vegas of Asia, became a destination for poker professionals. Last week, Macau received a step of the Asian Poker Tour in which 267 players signed up for the Main Event of $ HKD 25,000 buy-in which is approximately 3,200. The field let raised a total prize pool of $ HKD 1,913,100. After several days of competition, the eliminations succeeded and the final table hosted the 9 survivors of this poker tournament: Winfred Yu, Aaron Lim, Richard Yueqi Zhu, Carlos Chang, Tom Alner, Yue Qing Zhou, Martin Nilsson, Yi -Po Lee, Samad Razavi and Ai Min Zhang. The Chinese Zhu Richard was the chipleader with 754,000 while Yi Po Lee and Martin Nilsson started the final table as the shortstack with 169,000 and 162,000 chips.

Full Tilt Poker: PokerStars finalized its acquisition
Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars found finally an agreement to stop their prosecution for defrauding American players by offering illegal online poker games. Indeed, the two online poker sites agreed that all assets of Full Tilt will go to PokerStars for $ 731 million as announced on Tuesday by Preet Bharara, federal prosecutor of Manhattan. The acquisition of Full Tilt Poker will allow it to repay $ 547 million to U.S. players, a sum that PokerStars will pay in the coming days at the Department of Justice (DoJ). The remaining $ 184 million will be used to repay non-American players, including $ 5 million for French players. By the end of this week, the DoJ will receive an upfront payment of $ 225 million from PokerStars to complete the acquisition.

Mobile devices for poker: The ARJEL confirms its progress in France
During the publishing of the report on the second quarter of 2012, the French Regulatory Authority of online games (ARJEL) talked about the decline in attendance including of online poker especially cash games, the rise of sports betting after the Euro 2012 and continuous increasing of horse betting. This report was also an opportunity for the French regulatory commission to mention the popularity inside poker players to use mobile phone to indulge their passion. According to the report, the months of April to June 2012 was marked by the increase by 18% of connection on platforms of online poker from mobile devices for a total of 153,100 players. 15% of the connection has been made from smartphones and 3% with digital tablets. In the second quarter 2011, only 7% of online poker players opted for this mobile solution.

EPT Season 9: Digital watches as new prizes
The new season of the European Poker Tour will begin in mid-August and the organizers planned many new events in the program. Besides the program itself, the EPT Season 9 provides a novelty that would raise the enthusiasm of fans of live poker tournament. Heartland Poker Tour: Greg Raymer won the main event at Route 66
The Route 66 Casino Hotel Albuquerque, New Mexico, hosted the Heartland Poker Tour final table which took place on Monday. Many players and stars, a total of 131 participants attended the Main Event of $ 1,500 buy-in but in the end, the final table was played between six players : Steven Carruthers, Allan Hedin, Benjie Benavidez, Greg Raymer, Scott Dougherty and Robert Crawford. Greg Raymer was the chipleader at the final table with a stack of 1,081,000 chips. He was closely followed by Hedin with 985,000 chips while the rest of the group had less than 700,000 chips. Crawford and Dougherty statrted the final table as short stack with respectively a stack of 371,000 and 234,000.

IPT San Remo: 8 survivors at the final table, Allisiardi as chip leader
The Italian Poker Tour (IPT) San Remo brought together a field of over 375 players who carried out 2,200, the entry fee amount of the Main Event. At the end of the Day 1, 157 players were qualified for the Day 2 but only 45 of them will be retained for the next round. Costantino Russo, Giorgia Tabet and Joseph Pastura were eliminated on Day 2 but they were rewarded with a gain of over 3,000 each for their tickets in the ITM. Sandra Naujoks, who won the EPT Dortmund in 2009, had less luck when leaving the tournament without being paid at the end of the Day 2. The 45 survivors were all in the money and all the eliminated of the day were rewarded. This is the case of Frank Kalfon, Zhaping Zeng, Ludovic Sultan, Muhamet Perati, Pasquale Braco, Mauro Canavese, Dario Sammartino...

ARJEL: 24% growth for online poker tournaments in Q2
On Friday July 27, the French Regulatory Authority of online games (ARJEL) provided an update of the market of gambling and online poker in France for the second quarter 2012. In general, the market of online games is starting to take a prominent place in the environment of gambling on the French market. Indeed, the second quarter of 2012 was marked by a sharp increase in the sector as it can be seen with the rise of poker, sports betting and horse betting. Compared to the same period of 2011, cash game declined by 6% or a total amount of 1.51 billion. On the other hand, tournaments are in full expansion with an entrance fee of 345 million, an increase of 24% compared to the second quarter 2011. Online poker records a weekly average of 295,000 active accounts.

ANZPT Queenstown Snowfest: David Allan won the Main Event
Since last Monday, July 23, the Skycity Casino Queenstown in New Zealand hosted the ANZPT Queenstown Snowfest, the penultimate stage of the Season III of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour. The stage of Queenstown gathered 149 players during the three first days for a buy-in of NZD $ 2,700 + 300. The field generated a prize pool of NZD $ 402,300. 87 players were qualified for Day 2 but at the end of the day, they were only 31 players who get their ticket for the Day 3. The 31 survivors met then once again on Day 3 to tie the nine places of the final table that occupied finally by Matt Wakeman, Jordan Westmorland, David Evans, Ken Demlakian, David Zhao, Bryan Huang, Ricky Kroesen, Ivan Zalac and David Allanont. The Australian Ken Demlakian was the chipleader at the final table with a stack of 529,500.
