France: The Cercle Clichy Montmartre closed
The Cercle Clichy Montmartre, in Paris is obliged to cease its activities related to gambling since July 31 as its operating license was not renewed. Yet, it turns out that the gambling establishment that is located in Paris followed all of regulations. Indeed, the director of this institution offering poker was really surprised by that decision. He told that all senior and the team worked hard to provide to fans of poker and gambling a legal framework. The French authorities therefore indicated any malfeasance or association with organized crime networks, which was the reason of closure of the other gaming circles in the French capital. Note indeed that the Cercle Clichy Montmartre is the fourth game circle penalized in this way. The other institutions that have already been closed are Wargram, Haussmann and Eldo.
But, the CCM is accused of failing to apply the regulations concerning the management of casino games. This decision therefore destroys the project on the development of poker already begun by the establishment for some time. The CCM will have to limit to offer pool games and by opening daily its bar from 3:00 pm. Professional poker players regretted the closure of the CCM. In this context, Philippe Ktorza even decided to respond by accusing the authorities for taking a shocking decision with not justified reasons. He mentioned that the poker industry will eventually disappear in France.
