EPT Barcelona: Rodriguez chipleader of 24 survivors
Of the 61 entrants on Day 4 of the Main Event of the EPT Barcelona, only 24 players were qualified for the next round with Samuel Rodriguez as chipleader with a stack of 5,330,000 chips, it took only six hours to the majority of the field to be eliminated. Among the eliminated, the short stack of the day Matthias De Meulder was the first to leave this stage of the tournament. After a few levels, the elimination continued with those of Yuri Gulyy, Kevin Weiland, Konstantin Puchkov, Andrey Zaichenko, Zimnan Ziyard, Leo Margets, Daniel Rudd, Guy Thomas, Konstantin Streletskiy, Felix Kretchmann and Anatoly Gurtavoy. It was the same for the three French players Burlot Régis, Jean-Jacques Mars and Ilan Boujenah who was the bubble boy of the day because he finished in the 25th place. Of the five French qualified for the Day 4, only Lucille Cailly and Alain Roy are still in the race.
In the top 10 chip counts at the start of Day 5, we find Jonathan Karamalikis behind Rodriguez but with a stack of less than 2 million chips compared to that of the chip leader (3,085,000). Mikalai Pobal occupies the third place followed by Antonin Duda, Anton Sinel, John Juanda, Ole Schemion, Lucille Cailly, Elias Gutierrez Hernandez and Javier Piazuelo. In addition to these players, Roberto Romanello, Ilari Sahamies and Fatima Moreira de Melo are still qualified for the title of this poker tournament. The first eliminated among the 24 remaining players will walk away with a check of 29,400 during the Day 5 of this Friday at noon. The final table will take place on the afternoon of Saturday.
