WPT Legends of Poker: When stars of poker meet in one place
A new stage of the eleventh season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has just begun in Los Angeles. This is the WPT Legends of Poker. The $ 3,700 Main Event of the tournament takes place in the poker room at Bicycle Casino since Friday, August 24. The first two days qualifiers are already closed. The event recorded a total field of 622 participants including numerous big stars such as Gavin Smith, Galen Hall, Vanessa Rousso, Jonathan Little, David Pham, JC Tran, Hoyt Corkin, Andy Frankenberger and Vanessa Selbst. But a slight decrease in attendance was recorded during this edition 2012 of the tournament because last year the field totaled 757 players. However, the appointment has not lost one iota of qualities that make its fame.
At the end of the Day 1, then, the field narrowed considerably. There are only 216 players in contention for the rest of the adventure. In the place of chipleader is Michael Lipman who holds 257,100 chips in hand. His way to the coronation is still quite difficult. Indeed, many poker professionals also managed to qualify for the second day of competition as Scott Clement, Dwyte Pilgrim, Joseph Cheong, Jason Koon, David Randall, Brian Hastings, Isaac Baron, Lee Markolt, Erick Lindgren, Randy Dorfman or Will Failla. Each of them can still create a surprise to win the title of the tournament as well as the largest share of the prize pool totaling $ 500,000.
