Global Poker Index: Under the brand Zokay Entertainment
A few months earlier, the poker community asked questions about the future of the Global Poker Index (GPI) following the bankruptcy of its native society. Now, the problem seems to be set. Indeed, the GPI will be still updated because it has just been acquired by Zokay Entertainment after having been taken over by Pinnacle Entertainment for a long time. According to the CEO of Zokay Entertainment, Alexandre Dreyfus, the GPI is one of the best poker ranking systems. The selection criteria imposed in the selection of the 300 players who will be part of the ranking is very relevant and they are really worth the performance and levels of players. As a reminder, the ranking is based on the performance of players during the last three years, their regularity in the game and many other factors.
Alexandre Dreyfus, also mentioned that some improvements will be made to the GPI for the coming year. It will include the creation of a GPI VIP Club, the setting up of classification at national and regional organization or a GPI Awards ceremony which is scheduled to take place in early 2013. The GPI will be also extended and will cover several geographical areas, to mention only the Asian continent. It is evident that French players will be also part of the classification if they meet the imposed criteria. Currently, Bertrand Grospellier, Tristan Clémençon, Fabrice Soulier and Roger Hairabedian are part of the GPI list.
