EPT Barcelona: Mikalai Pobal won face to 1,082 participants
The opening stage of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Season 9 recorded a huge success. Indeed, the 5,300 main event attracted 1,082 participants generating a prize pool of 5,247,700. The tournament ended with the victory of the Belarus Mikalai Pobal. Aged 28, he won the big prize of 1,007,550 after having eliminated the online poker pro Ilari Sahamies during the final duel. Pobal expressed his happiness of having won the biggest trophy of his career as a professional poker player. The Finn, meanwhile, consoled for his defeat, with the prize for the runner-up amounting 629,700. He clearly increased his bankroll as he already finished 4th in the Super High Roller of 50,000.
Regarding the fate of the favorites of the competition, the American John Juanda with four bracelets at the World Series of Poker finished 8th, which allowed him to pocket a prize of 76,100. About French players, they were ten who accessed in the money list. Lucille Cailly was among them as she was finished 21st. She pocketed a prize of 29,400. Alain Roy finished 23rd and Jean Jacques Mars was ranked 38 th. After this Barcelona step, the EPT will meet lovers of the circuit in Italy in October. The Main Event of the EPT San Remo will be held from October 5 to 11.
