EPT Barcelona: 604 players qualified for the Day 2
After the Day 1A of Sunday, the Gran Casino of Barcelona hosted the second first day of the EPT Barcelona Main Event. The day registered a field of 670 players, while the first day drew 403. In all, the Day 1 brought together a field of 1,073 participants which is the second largest crowd in the history of the European Poker Tour after the EPT San Remo Season VI which was attended by 1,240 players. After eight levels of play, nearly half of the field was eliminated with only 378 survivors. In all, 604 players including 226 survivors of the Day 1A will join today the Gran Casino tables for the Day 2.
During the second entry day, Guy Bachar Israel is leading the chipcount with a stack of 193,100. Samir Hadad is just behind with 169,200 chips followed by Ionut Dan Hila (168,400), Alain Roy (146,600), Jason Wheeler (142,900), Kevin Schulz (149,900), Enver Khvitia (140,800), Alexander Syuldin (132,900), Mohsin Charania (132,400 ) and Lucille Cailly (131,400). Theo Jorgensen, Ivan Demidov, Ville Wahlbeck, Joao Nunes, Daniel Negreanu, Ana Marquez, Luca Pagano, Martin Staszko, Rino Mathis, Barry Greenstein, Jude Ainsworth, Jason Mercier, Fatima Moreira De Melo or Boris Becker are also qualified for the next stage. Players like Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Jonathan Duhamel, Johnny Lodden, Dario Minieri, Antony Lellouche, Christophe De Meulder, Guillaume Darcourt, Giuseppe Zarbo or Nacho Barbero will not have the chance to attend it.
