Poker ranking: Marvin Rettenmaier is vying the GPI Player of the Year title
Marvin Rettenmaier just demonstrated once again that he is a very good poker player. He is effectively intending another trophy for the World Poker Tour (WPT). Indeed, after having won the WPT Championship at Bellagio in last May, he already aims a new title. At the latest news, the German managed to qualify for the final of the WPT Cyprus. With this new exploit, Rettenmaier is well positioned to reach the first place of the Global Poker Index Player of The Year. Certainly, David Baker, who has done an excellent course at the last World Series of Poker, is still leading with 715.90 points. Henceforth, he should better win more points because he may be overtaken by the German, who is currently ranked second in the standings with 682.08 points.
Until here, the classification didnt register any major change except the access by Tommy Vedes in the top 10. Indeed, with five cashes at the WSOP 2012, his winning at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown and his many achievements, he won 10 seats. He ousted Erik Cajelais from the top 10. However, he could certainly come back as he is also a finalist in Cyprus. Jonathan Duhamel is still in the third place, Dan Smith 4th, Kyle Julius 5th, Phil Ivey 6th, Daniel Negreanu 7th, Andrew Lichtenberger 8th and Samuel Chartier 10th.
