This year, the European Poker Tour Barcelona (EPT) stage will be held during the summer time. This event is scheduled to take place in Gran Casino annex poker room, Barcelona on August 27 to September 1st, 2011. An outstanding program is waiting for players during the EPT Barcelona because 20 tournaments will be provided to participants. And of course, the famous Main Event with € 5,300 entry fee that gathered 757 participants in 2010 and awarded the champion title to Kent Lundmark will be one of those tournaments. Note that he is the second Swedish winner of the EPT Barcelona after his compatriot, Alexander Stevic in 2004. And the Pro/Am, the opening tournament which gathered amateurs and professional poker players at Palms Resort Hotel poker room announced its verdict. Among a field of 189 players attending this first Pro/Am tournament, Steve O'Dwyer was able to win the title with $23,810 as reward and a ticket for the Main Event of $20,000 buy-in, starting from today. FS & G established the Global Poker index by taking into consideration three criteria : the results in live tournament during these last three years, the number of participation (more than 20 participations) and finally, the buy-in which is at least $ 1,500. The Austrian poker world has seen great progress with the creation of the Austrian Pokersport Association (APSA) in 1996. For this year's event, designed especially for Austrian poker enthusiasts, almost 200 players are expected to compete in solo and per team. The second season of the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) began and the city of Manchester has been chosen to host the first stage of the tournament. The event was held from August 2 to 7, 2011 in a beautiful poker room furnished in Old Trafford. The GSOP is becoming a very attractive poker meeting, which also explains the success of the first season. By entering this tournament, players will have the chance to qualify for the finals of the PPT. As a reminder, the event will take place between September 12 and 17, 2011 in the city of Cannes. And as usual, the prize pool at this meeting of the Summer sat of Arcachon will be divided into several packs of € 8,500.

It remains only 63 players for the Day 3 of the European Poker Tour Tallinn (EPT), which takes place this Friday. The second day of competition of the tournament was fateful for many players because the field of 198 participants was quickly reduced to a little more than 60 players after only 6 levels of play. And in this wide elimination, the unfortunate departure of many elites of the game was noticed like that of David Vamplev, Rupert Elder, Kevin Stani, Annette Obrestad, JP Kelly, Richard Toth and Martin Jacobson. After the successful tournament in Brasilia, Chili and Peru, the fourth season of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) is now making a stop in Punta del Este, Uruguay for a new adventure. The event started yesterday August 3 and will close on August 7, 2011 and during this period, fans of poker willing to join the luxurious Mantra Resort Spa and Casino will be entitled to an outstanding program. The Main event with $ 2,500 of buy-in will get started on Thursday from noon. Not forget that it was Jose Barbero the winner, last year and $ 279, 330 of prize was given to him.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is the biggest event of the year that poker fans of the world are waiting for. For its 10th Season, a new event is in the program, the Irish stage. The WPT President, Adam Pliska has just announced that the World Poker Tour Season 10 will stop in Ireland at the legendary Dublin City West Hotel from January 5 to 8, 2012 and the buy-in will be € 2,500. For those who are living in the other side of the Atlantic but also in the Old Continent and keen on poker, they have a wide choice of big tournaments to choose during this month of August. But the most prominent in the eyes of poker fans is surely the Legends of Poker Tournament Series which already took place on last July 28, a tournament that gathered many players, guaranteeing a prizepool of 4 millions dollars. This year, the Legends of Poker Tournament Series will be special because of its first Hold'em No Limit event having a prizepool of 1 million dollars while the buy-in is only $125. This series will last one month and will close on August 25.

For this new season of the European Poker Tour (EPT), the first stage of Tallinn reaches its second day. After the place of chipleader won by Maksim Kolosov on Day 1A with 100 000 chips, it is now the turn of the Spanish player Oscar Lima to lead the game with 132 000 chips. At the first beginning of this tournament, 180 players paid € 4,250 for 30 000 chips in order to be present on Swissotel’s tables. After the Day 1A, 130 were able to stay after having run 7 levels of 60 minutes each. The Awesome is the triumph of Oscar Lima that marked the Day 1B. The young Spanish player of 23 years old plays his first big major tournament but because of his way of play during this second day, it is believable that he still has great chances to do great things during this Estonian EPT.

The eighth season of the circuit European Poker Tour (EPT) has just started in the heart of the Estonian capital, Tallinn. Although the buy-in of the tournament is very affordable, the event has not accumulated the expected success because they were only 92 players who have joined the poker room of Swissotel to take part in the Day 1A. Despite this low peak recorded during the first day of competition, this stage of the inaugural EPT Season 8 promises to deliver an exceptional poker show to the public. Many former EPT champions were part of the field to name Martin Jacobson who amply demonstrated his competence to play, the EPT Prague champion Roberto Romanello and Kent Lundmark who won the EPT Barcelona. This first day of this poker tournament also welcomed players such as Fernando Brito, Kevin Vandermissen, Mathew Frankland and Maksim Kolosov.

The Scottish stage of the famous poker circuit for non-professional players, the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT)was held in the poker room of Gala Casino Merchant City in Glasgow last weekend. The event registered a field of 131 participants who paid a buy-in of 75 pounds. The assembled prizepool reached then £ 9,825. And the event crowned as champion Grant Speirs. He therefore got a gold jewelry, was entitled as champion of the APAT Glasgow and pocketed the first prize of £ 3,095. Note that they were only 24 players to have had the chance to be part of the field of the second day of competition, a decisive day because aafter a few hours of confrontation, the final table was built.

While the World Series of Poker 2011 (WSOP) will end in a few weeks, the months of August and September will be still busy for poker enthusiasts. Indeed from the beginning of this month, the European Poker Tour (EPT) which is held in Estonia, in Tallinn specifically, has already paved the way for numerous interesting competitions. This meeting marks the beginning of a busy calendar with many European and worldwide tournaments. The EPT Tallinn currently lists nearly 92 players with professional players as Arnaud Mattern, Kevin Stani, Martin Jacobson, Praz Bansi, Roberto Romanello, Fernando Brito, Joe Ebanks, David Vamplew, etc. This first round of the EPT will be followed by the WPT Legends of Poker of August 25 to 30, in California. This tournament is the third stage of the WPT 2011 with a buy-in reduced to $ 3,700. This tournament is particular by the fact that player can re-register on day 1B after their elimination on day1 A.

The passage of the tournament Italian Poker Tour (IPT) in San Remo was a great success. There were 426 players who joined the poker room of Casino San Remo to take part in the tournament. After the third day of competition, the eight players who would fill the final table stood out. On the top of the list was the Romanian Dan Murariu who managed to collect the largest part of the stack amounting 3,021,000. Giovanni Bigoni, Fratello Matteo, Enzo Tommason, Vitalii Minakov, Matyas Poloche and Andrea Ventura were also qualified for this last round. The main event of € 525 buy-in of the European tour, European Deepstack, ended with a victory of Carlos Lopes. If the first edition of this poker festival accumulated a large turnout, the edition 2011 was also a success story. 513 participants invaded the poker room of the Casino Namur in Belgium to compete for the title of the tournament. There are several categories of prizes to be awarded to qualified players. And the public can already vote for the player of their choice. For the award of the best cash game player, the public can choose between JP Kelly, Richard Ashby, Roland de Wolfe, Sam Trickett and Andrew Moseley. For the title of Best Mixed Game Player, you will still find Richard Ashby who will compete against Matt Perin, James Dempsey, Phil Shaw and John Kabbaj. For the category of best PLO player, the nominees are Ashby, JP Kelly, John Shipley, Devilfish and Ben Grundy.

Despite the enormous advantage in chips accumulated by Philip Willcocks at the beginning of the final day of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Melbourne (APPT), Leo Boxell ended the tournament by picking up the coronation. With this well deserved victory, Boxell confirmed his status as an Australian professional poker because he is effectively ranked in the first position of Player of the Year. Note that he shone in many events in recent years and with the award of AUD $ 330,000 he comes to pocket, he had currently more than $ 1 million gain. The final table of this inaugural stage of the APPT was however hectic as each competitor was in a good position to win.
