Manchester Grand Series of Poker: Victory of the German Jens Kerper
The second season of the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) began and the city of Manchester has been chosen to host the first stage of the tournament. The event was held from August 2 to 7, 2011 in a beautiful poker room furnished in Old Trafford. The GSOP is becoming a very attractive poker meeting, which also explains the success of the first season. And this inaugural step of the season II is a complete success as 257 players paid the buy-in of $ 1,250 to take part in the tournament. The final day did not last long because it took only four levels of play to know the name of the two players who will compete for the title during the final heads'up who was the German Jens Kerper and the Norwegian Rolf Inge Kwanik.
Kerper had just signed then a magnificent performance by winning the title of champion of Manchester GSOP 2011. Note that he began this final round with a large advantage in chips. Following a confrontation that lasted barely 10 minutes, he grabbed the trophy and the first prize of $ 81,175. As runner up, the Norwegian was awarded the second prize of $ 51,570. The third prize of $ 35,908 returned to Andis Netlaus. Johannes Erfurt, Karl Rosengard, Martinak Andras, Zsolt Vizsnyiczai, Rob Sherwood and James Browning were also among the finalists of the event and ranked respectively 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th. The next step of this second season of the GSOP will be held in Greece from October 11 to 15, 2011 and the Porto Carras Grand Resort will be the place that will host the tournament.
