Americas Cup of Poker: Canada's team as winner
Held in conjunction with the first stage of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Season 4, the second edition of the Americas Cup of Poker (ACP) elected the Canadian team as champion. The ACP 2011 was attended by Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and a team of players from different countries named Rest of Latam. Note that the event took place in the poker room of the Mantra Resort Casino Punta del Este, in Uruguay. After two days of competition, the Canadian team represented by its captain Greg Debora, John Mehrassa, Robert Van Thuyl, Henry Wong and Jason Collins was the best, and eliminated the Mexican team with a score of (5 - 0) during the final round. This performance allowed them to get the trophy and the first prize of $ 25,000, a victory that also pleased the captain of the team.
Colombia was the first to be eliminated and was awarded the prize of $ 5,000. The Rest Latam team also had a short course and was entitled the 6th place with a prize of $ 8,000. For Argentina, the team finished in the 5th position and was able to pocket a bonus of $ 10,000. Beaten by the Venezuelan team by a score of (4-1), Brazil rolled to the 4 th place and was awarded $ 12,000. Venezuela, for its part won the third prize of $ 15,000. And for the runner up, the Mexican team, a gain of $ 20,000 was awarded to them. The captain of the Canadian team did not hide his joy for having won the Cup.
