Eugene Katchalov: The chipleader of the Day 1 of the EPIC Poker League
The first stage of the EPIC Poker League began on August 9, 2011 at Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. This tournament that gather the biggest players in the world on the professional circuit of the moment was marked, at the end of the first day by the consecration of Eugene Katchalov. For its first edition, the EPIC Poker League organized by Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack had a promising start with a number of participants around 137 people. The buy-in of this NL Hold'em tournament 6-Max is $ 20 000, so the prize pool collected is approximately $ 3,140,000.
At the end of Day 1, therefore, the WSOP champion, Eugene Katchalov made an impressive start with a total of 356,300 chips followed by Ben Lamb (287,200), Brian Rast (260,500), Antonio Esfandiari (248,100 ), Noah Schwartz (220 200), McLean Karr (191,800), Hoyt Corkins (187,400), Isaac Baron (167,700) and Dan O'Brien (163,300). The Top 10 is closed by Erik Seidel with a chip count of 161,200. Note that all players started the games with a stack of 50,000 chips with levels of 90 minutes. Only 63 players were qualified for the Day 2, among which only 18 players will be selected. This first stage of the EPL will run until August 12 and the second stage will be scheduled from September 6 to 9.
