WPT Regional: Chris Conrad as winner of Jacksonville's stage
The passage of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Jacksonville is included in the new offers of this tenth edition of the circuit. The event took place in the poker room of Orange Park from August 13 to 16. With a buy-in of $ 1,500, the WPT Regional Jacksonville brought together 416 participants composed of professional and amateur players. With such crowds, the organizers collected a total prize pool of $ 622,350 and were able to give a nice balance of $ 143,145 to the winner of the tournament. This was the native of Tampa, Chris Conrad, who seized the prize and the trophy.
At the beginning of the third day of competition, only 23 players among the 461 enrolled were able to resume the game and after more than two hours of confrontation, the High Limit poker room of Orange Park hosted the 10 players qualified to compete in the final of the event. It took then more than seven hours before the final table ended. And after having ousted Ray Leone, Conrad won the trophy. As runner up, Leone was awarded a prize of $ 90,245. The success of this regional stage of the WPT proves once again the poker industry development in the city of Jacksonville. As a reminder, the Summer Poker Series brought together 2,000 players and generated a colossal prize pool of $ 1 million. The next stop of the WPT in the city is scheduled to take place from November 19 to 22 and the buy-in for the main event is set at $ 3,500.
