Barrière Poker Tour 2011: The second step in Nice in the program this May
The victory of the amateur player, Philippe Mignonneau marked the first stage of the Barrière Poker Tour Toulouse, 2011 edition, who has as reward a sum of 15,000. This victory also allowed him to win a package for the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe to be held at the Casino Barrière of Cannes Croisette during 6 days, from October 16 to 21 of this year. Six stops in six other French cities are also in the program of the tournament and the closest is that of Nice which will constitute also the second step and scheduled for Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday, 22 May, 2011.

Team Humanitarian Poker: A charity tournament to the benefit of a school in India
Poker and humanitarian work are inseparable for Team Humanitarian Poker. Indeed, this charitable organization for children fixed as first objective the funding of humanitarian projects. To achieve its main goal, this poker club born in January 2011, created from the association Vivre son enfance (Living his childhood), has its own team consisting of 15 poker players. EPT San Remo: 438 participants for Day 1A
When Thomas Kremser said the famous words "Shuffle up and deal", the 438 competitors who invaded the poker room of the casino of San Remo to participate in the Day 1A of the tournament European Poker Tour San Remo (EPT) started the game. Many poker stars were part of this wide field of the first qualifying day of the tournament like Pieter de Korver, JP Kelly, Victor Blom, the EPT Vienna champion Michael Eiler, in search of a second victory and the former champions of the EPT Anton Wigg, Aaron Gustavson, Jake Cody and Joao Barbosa. World Series of Poker Circuit: Staring of the stop in Pennsylvania
For the first time, the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C) will have a stop in Pennsylvania. Players who decide to join the poker room of Harrah's Chester will be able to play poker on table of no-limit hold'em, Omaha eight-or-better or HORSE. EPT Champion of Champions: 43 of the 70 invited players already accepted
As it was announced recently, a new event called the "Champion of Champions" will mark the finale of the Season 7 of the European Poker Tour (EPT). Thus, this event dedicated to invited payers only, the former winners of the EPT, will loop the 7th edition of the European circuit. Dublin Irish Poker Open: A well deserved victory of Niall Smyth
It was during the morning of Tuesday, April 26 that the Irish Poker Open Tournament 2011 delivered its verdict. Note that the event took place in the poker room of Burlington Hotel in Dublin since last April 21. Monte Carlo: The German Julian Kabitzke as winner of The One
The first edition of the Everest Poker One tournament held in the Salle des Palmiers of Sporting Club de Monte Carlo was a great success. Playing for money: 42% of young people attracted by poker
Despite the formal prohibition of the French law for youth under 18 years to play games with money, the survey research center and information for consumer organizations or Crioceras in France showed that 15% of young players aged between 10 to 17 indulge in gambling. Jennifer Harman Poker Charity: The tournament to be held on May 20
The Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Nevada SPCA) and the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) announced the holding of the fifth annual charity tournament of Jennifer Harman. Belgium: Casinos will become non-smoking area from July 1
Recently, the Belgian Constitutional Court took the decision that from the second half of this year 2011, all public places are declared "non-smoking areas." Previously, from December 2009 until this decision, this measure wasn't yet applied to some locations such as cafes without fresh food service and gambling rooms, poker room or casino. To avoid the concept of giving more advantages for some shopkeeper, the Belgian Constitutional Court corrected its decision by establishing the principles of equality. Consequently, many smokers of various types of institutions including casinos, poker players included, must leave the place or at least move to the areas reserved for smoking.

State of Hawaii: Poker won't be legalized this year
Any other bill on live and online poker won't be submitted again before the year 2012 in the State of Hawaii. Indeed, the Hawaiian standing Committee of Finance, composed by the affairs and economic revitalization Committee and the House Judiciary, decided to abstain, for a minimum period of one year, the study of the legalization and regulation of poker. For the year 2011, those passionate about this poker marathon met at Dusk Till Dawn Club Nottingham, United Kingdom. And as usual, the event brought together many great players like Sam Trickett, Neil Channing, Luc Schwartz, Mike Matusow, Roland De Wolfe, Roberto Romanello and Viffer Peat. Casino hold-up in France: The black series continues in the Bouches-du-Rhône

U.S.A: Three major online poker rooms closed by the FBI
Whether for online poker players or to operators which are PokerStars.com, FullTiltPoker.com and AbsolutePoker.com, last Friday, April 15th was a tragic day. Indeed, the FBI decided to close the access to these three online poker rooms. The reason is that leaders of these gambling sites are accused of money laundering, bank fraud and illegal acts. As a reminder, online poker game is illegal in the U.S.A. Since October 2006, the law entitled Unlawfull Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) prohibited all money transfers to online poker websites. While most gaming sites decided to abandon the game, these three sites didn't closed their accounts. They were helped by some operators as Daniel Tzvetkoff, the director of the company Intabill to continue to operate in the U.S. market. And this latter was apprehended by the justice since April 2010.

PokerStars advertising pulled from the ESPN
The ESPN channel that airs famous poker shows pulled PokerStars advertising from its network. It wont probably be airing adverts of the indicted poker websites who invested almost $27 million into TV advertising last year. WSOP and WPT shows wont be affected by the decision. However, North American Poker Tour Presented by PokerStars.net wont get on the screen through ESPNs channel. Many players have money deposited with the seized poker sites and have now a reason to worry about their funds.

Mont-de-La Salle: Physical training teachers held their second casino and poker night
A second casino and poker evening was organized by physical training teachers of the high school of Mont-de-La Salle, in France on Friday, April 8, 2011. This action is similar to what was done last year and is part of the modernization of the gym of the school. This second casino and poker evening appointment was attended by a hundred players over 18 years during which awards were distributed to winners of the tournament thanks to the helping hand of many sponsors. Thus, the total amount of contributions collected from these participants at this poker game totaled $ 4,000. A considerable amount compared to that gathered at the first poker charity event of the year 2010 with a gain of $ 2,600 paid by players.

Even if the step in Toulouse of the Barrière Poker Tour (BPT) was held in conjunction with the Partouche Poker Tour Nice, a real success has been recorded as 123 players registered for the main event of 1,500 buy-in. The desire to win a package to the World Series of Poker Europe Cannes (WSOP-C) encouraged certainly players to participate in the tournament. Note that the winner was entitled to a package amounting 12,000 for the Main Event of the famous championship in Cannes. USA: FBI has closed Full Tilt poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker !
The news came by last friday, april the 15th 2011, a day to remember to be the worst of online poker history. This sad day have already a name : Black friday. The US Attorney of Manhattan, Preet Bharara, filed charged against the three web sites Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker, saying that they have been breaking the law by making available their online gambling websites allowing US citizens to play poker. 75 bank accounts used by the poker companies and their payment processors where also seized.

WSOP-C: Cartwright won his third bracelet
Kyle Cartwright has just completed a major feat in the poker room of Harrah's Circuit under the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C). NAPT Mohegan Sun: Vanessa Selbst, in the way for a second victory
The game continues in the poker room of Mohegan Sun Casino under the tournament North American Poker Tour (NAPT). EPT Berlin: Fabrice Soulier maintains his advantage at the start of Day 3
The European Poker Tour Berlin (EPT) have reached its third day of competition. European Poker Tour Berlin: A total of 773 players registered
The second qualifying day of the European Poker Tour Berlin (EPT) has just ended. To recall, 456 players registered for Day 1B. The total field of the event is then 773 participants. Compared to the edition 2010, a little reduction of the turnout was recorded because last year, the EPT on the German soil hosted 945 participants. World Poker Tour Bratislava: The Colombian Robbert Romanello wins the title

April: A second half busy in tournaments in France
