Belgian Poker Series: Beginning of the Season 1 at Namur this April
Motivated by the excellent performance of its poker players on the international level, estimated at 18 ITM (in the money) for 98 participants during the season 7 of the European Poker Tour, Belgium wants to boost this dynamism by providing a major poker circuit on its territory. Indeed, this country is currently the best poker nation in the EPT circuit during the year 2010-2011 pending the last appointment of May 12, in Madrid. Indeed, if we take a look at the last EPT Snowfest, three Belgians managed to climb onto the final table who were Kevin Vandermissen, Koen Visscher of Team 770 and Philip Meulyzer. On the other hand, remarkable results have also been made by its citizens in other international competitions.
For this new series of poker tournaments that will visit the many casinos in the country, organizers of the Belgian Poker Series (BPS) decided to offer attractive prizes to make this Belgian circuit a success from its first appearance. Thus, it is intended among other things, consistent endowments with packages more than enough for players qualified in online poker rooms for the different events of the competition. The first appointment of this Belgian series of tournaments will be played at the casino of Namur for a first stage of four days on April 14 to 17, 2011. Besides the main event of 730 + 70 buy-in, a lot of side event tournaments are also planned in the program. Regarding the participation of major players at this inaugural stage of the Belgian Poker Tour, some players have already confirmed their presence at the event like Christophe Meulder and Matthias Meulder, but also Charlotte Neuville and Peter Van Brabander.
