PokerStars advertising pulled from the ESPN
The ESPN channel that airs famous poker shows pulled PokerStars advertising from its network. It wont probably be airing adverts of the indicted poker websites who invested almost $27 million into TV advertising last year. WSOP and WPT shows wont be affected by the decision. However, North American Poker Tour Presented by PokerStars.net wont get on the screen through ESPNs channel. Many players have money deposited with the seized poker sites and have now a reason to worry about their funds.
Whilst the U.S. law does not allow for players being prosecuted in connection with the money laundering and fraud scandal of major online poker operators, their means might end up as evidence in court. A number of players might have kept funds on their online poker accounts waiting to withdraw them right before the WSOP starts and use their poker proceeds to fund their play in Las Vegas.
