USA: FBI has closed Full Tilt poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker !
The news came by last friday, april the 15th 2011, a day to remember to be the worst of online poker history. This sad day have already a name : Black friday. The US Attorney of Manhattan, Preet Bharara, filed charged against the three web sites Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker, saying that they have been breaking the law by making available their online gambling websites allowing US citizens to play poker. 75 bank accounts used by the poker companies and their payment processors where also seized.
The charges against these websites are up to 3 millions of dollars. These poker web sites were based overseas and their owners thought that they could escape from the USA's justice, obviously, they were wrong! Reminded that this kind of money transfers and online gambling activity are illegal in US since 2006 but to prevent the loss of earning from US market many companies try to beat the law. The outcome has resulted in the immediate stop of these poker websites. Now, when visiting one of these, peoples will be redirection on a FBI web page.
