Toward a merging between Amaya Gaming and PokerStars
The global online poker industry, and particularly in the United States could see again a turning point of its history. According to rumors, the Amaya Gaming Group is about to assume ownership of the leader of online poker, PokerStars. According to these sources, an agreement relating to the merging between Amaya with the company founded by Isai Scheinberg is under negotiation. As evidence of this acquisition, since the beginning of May, the stock market price of the Amaya share would have increased significantly, from $ 7.71 to $ 10.25. However, after the series of acquisitions it has made in recent years, the Canadian group would have great difficulty in finding sufficient financial resources to acquire the red spade room. As a reminder, Amaya Gaming owns now Cryptologic, Chartwell Technology and Ongame.

Genting Poker Series: Iwan Jones wins the GPS Stoke Main Event
Iwan Jones was the lucky winner of the Genting Poker Series Stoke 2014 Main Event which took place in the poker room of the prestigious Genting Club Stoke, UK. 360 poker players participated in the Main Event, including 108 inscriptions on Day 1B and 198 on Day 1C. The first day of the poker tournament was played online via Genting Poker and Dusk Till Dawn. And after four days of competition, only 18 players secured their places on the table. However, numerous were the notable players who prematurely eliminated in this poker event: ranging from Gerald " Skullman " David to Leon Campbell, Wayne Rogers, Andy Wright , Willie Tann , Aziz Miah , Guy Taylor, Fareed Hussain and Graham Carter as well. The nine remaining places for the final table were occupied by Chen Tam, Alex Spencer, Dominic Kay, Iwan Jones, Andreas Olympius, Jack Allen, Matthew Simpson, Richard Horton and Will Kassouf.

Tony G: Elected at the European Parliament
The poker player and Lithuanian businessman Tony G has just brought some new energy to the poker industry in Europe. Indeed, Antanas Guoga, known for his nickname Tony G, one of the most famous poker players in the world, was elected on Sunday in the European Parliament. Tony Gs Liberal Democrat Party won 16.52 % of the votes and became the third political party in Lithuania. Most of his Party members voted for him; they now own two seats in the European Parliament. After the publication of the voting results, Antanas Guoga sent a sincere thanks to all the voters and those who supported him. This is at the same time a personal victory and Liberal Democrats Partys great success. For the first time, Liberals have won two seats in EU parliament in Brussels, welcomes Tony G.

Jiajun Liu wins the title - APPT Macau
Jiajun Liu grabs the season 8 Asia Poker Tour Macau trophy ( APPT Macau), a victory that provides him a good fortune valued at $ HK 2,776,000, a great sum of money that is equivalent to US $ 360,000. As a reminder, the finalists of the APPT Macau Main Event joined the poker room on Sunday. At the very start of the game, the Scottish poker player Thomas MCgarrity secures the place of chipleader. Peter Chan as chipleader over the two starting days - APPT Macau 2014
Since Wednesday, the poker room of City of Dreams in Macau was filled with excitement thanks to the holding of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in the gambling facility. Actually it is viewed as one of the biggest tournaments in Asia Pacific. The HK $ 25,000 ($ 3,225) buy-in of the APPT Macau Main Event brought together 494 players over the two starting days of the event. It attracts 106 more than last year. 212 players were registered at City of Dreams on Day 1A. After seven hours of play, Bo "Box" Xie found himself on top of the chipcounts with a stack of 166,000 chips. He was followed by Alvan Yifan Zheng (151,400), Jaswinder Suri (149,500) Liu Jiajun (142,800), Peyron Jean Marie (105,700). They are thus the top 5 survivors among the 87 players of that day.

René Müller wins the PLO - Hamburg Poker Masters
The Spieldbank Hamburg located in Hamburg has been hosting the edition 2014 of the Hamburg Poker Masters (HPM) since Thursday. The poker tournament is scheduled over five days and will offer participants three events including the Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hold'em and HPM Main Event. The PLO event of 220 buy-in inaugurated the tournament with a starting stack of 3,000 chips on a 30 minutes level. 30 players took part in the event; 77 rebuys and 28 add-ons were registered. The verdict of the day saw Rene Müller as title winner following the Heads-up clash against ShM. The two poker players have respectively won a prize of 8,464 and 6,027. Oliver Thoms secured the third place with 4,745 of win, followed by Igor Illic ( 3,591), Uwe Gerstl ( 2,821) and Hansjörg Fally ( 1,000). The tournament has guaranteed five seats but a deal between these players drove Hansjörg Fally to pocket 1,000.

At Kings Casino before the hosting of the Eureka Poker Tour - German Poker Tour
Kings Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, has been receiving for the last few years the most famous poker events in Europe. By this weekend, this gambling facility will host another major event, the German Poker Tour (GPT). It will be followed by the Eureka Poker Tour, scheduled from May 26 to June 3 in the same establishment. In fact, the German Poker Tour begins in May 22 paralleling the starting day of the Main Event, preceded by a $ 60 buy-in satellite tournament; this satellite tournament actually provides 15 seats for the Main Event. The three remaining stages of the season II - Card Player Poker Tour
There are only three tournaments left before the second season of the Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) ends. Six tournaments have been held since the beginning of the season, following the last CPPT event which had taken place at Jacksonville (Bestbet) in yearly May. Sean Winter emerged victorious in this poker tournament and earned $ 84,000 on a field of 218 players. The circuit will start from July 17 to August 3 during which will take place the seventh stage of the season at Choctaw Casino Resort of Durant, Oklahoma. Last year, the Main Event was won by Mohammad Arani with a prize of $ 220,600. Jeff Madsen wins the California State Poker Championship - Heartland Poker Tour
Jeff Madsen got home with $ 157,060 of cash as he won the Main Event of the Hearland Poker Tour California State Poker Championship. This 1,650 $ buy-in Main Event has recorded 584 participants with a prizepool of 850,000 $. The final table of this poker tournament was played on Monday with the presence of the nine survivors, ranging from Amit Makhija to Luther Quach, Jasmin Oh, Alexander Greenblatt, Brett Murray, Jeff Madsen, Wes Nally and Steve Ayoub as well as Doug Lee. Jeff Madsen began his play as shortstack but he managed to catch up his delay by winning the Heads-up against Alexander Greenblatt. The 4th stage of the season from May 21 to 25 - Genting Poker Series
Genting Club Stoke room, UK, will receive from Wednesday, May 21 the 4th stage of the Genting Poker Series (GPS). Nottingham will host a new stage in November - World Poker Tour
After the success of Dusk Till Dawn during the UK & Ireland Poker Tour in Nottingham, official members of the poker room have announced other new events holdings, with a guaranteed £ 1million during the World Poker Tour (WPT) in November. Actually Dusk Till Dawn will be the host of the WPT Nottingham for 17 days. The exact launching date has not yet been revealed but this poker festival could be held from Friday 7 to Sunday 23, November, according to a tentative schedule posted on the blog of the club by Rob Yong, the owner of DTD. The owner of the club was very excited when announcing this partnership between Dusk Till Dawn and the World Poker Tour, an ambitious partnership that leads this fall to the largest poker festival ever held in the United Kingdom.

United Kingdom: New law on online gambling, 15% tax and compulsory licensing!
The UK has adopted a new gambling legislation on online games after the text received its royal assent on May 14. Debated since 2012, the Bill has been established to correct the Gambling Act of 2005. Gambling operators who offer online games in the UK are now taxed according to the tax point of consumption rather than on the location of the establishment or company. The law had been voted in March in the House of Lords, a law that requires all poker game operators and other online gambling companies to have license in order to legally provide gambling services to British customers. Besides, these operators should pay a 15% tax for all generated profits with customers located in the United Kingdom.

The latest regional event in Columbus, from May 16 to 25 - Hollywood Poker Open
The Hollywood Casino of Columbus in Ohio will host from Friday the latest regional event of the Hollywood Poker Open, Season 2. 16 events are scheduled all along the 10 days of the HPO Columbus. Global Poker Index: German players dominate the rankings!
Every week, an update is made to the ranking GPI Top 300 players of live poker tournament. The German poker player Ole Schemion remains on top of the list according to the GPI rankings of May 12. The classification has been dominated by Germans with two players in the Top 3. Actually Phillip Gruissem finishes third, just behind the American Scott Seiver. As for Byron Kaverman (+1), he jumps out to the fifth position, which is Vanessa Selbt (-1)s place one week earlier. Marvin Rettenmaier remains in sixth place of the GPI list, followed by Dan Smith (+1), Stephen Chidwick (+ 2), Jason Mercier (-2) and Jonathan Duhamel (+3). Winter Poker Open: Poker players sue over counterfeit chips in Borgata Poker event!
In January, an event of the Borgata Poker Open 2014 was cancelled following the discovery of counterfeit chips during tournament. The prizepool of the poker tournament has been frozen by the organizers until an investigation was complete. Three months later, New Jerseys Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has decided to distribute $ 1,721,805 of reimbursement to 2,143 participants in this event. Some players, who were among the 27 remaining players, were not satisfied of that payouts distribution. These 27 players have just received respectively $ 19,323 from Borgata.

UKIPT: Duncan MCLellan wins Nottingham title over 1,000 participants!
From May 7 to May 10, the Dusk Till Dawn Poker of Nottingham, in UK, hosted a stage of the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT). The UKIPT actually broke the attendance record of the season by gathering 1,223 players in the £ 1,100 buy-in Main Event. The guaranteed prizepool of £ 1,000,000 has definitely attracted many top players of live poker circuit such as Jake Cody, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Chris Moneymaker, Matthias Meulder, Liv Boeree, Julian Thew, Jonas Lauck, Raphael Wieczorek, Patrice Brandt, Ben Vinson and Jack Salter. Asia Championship of Poker 2014: A provisional calendar of 21 events
The Asia Championship Of Poker (ACOP) is one of the biggest live poker tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, the ACOP organizes its third edition and the scheduled programs will be more interesting than the two previous editions. Organizers presented on Monday the ACOP 2014 tentative schedule. It includes 21 events, set over 17 days of festivity. This third edition will take place at City Of Dreams in Macao from October 24 to November 9. As a reminder, the two previous titles were won respectively by Zhou Xing and Sunny Jung in a field of 184 and 203 players. CPPT Bestbet Jacksonville: Sean Winters victory over 218 players
The sixth stage of the season II of the North American Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) poker tournament circuit ended with the victory of Sean Winter. The 23 year-old hometown hero earned the title after a tougher game which lasted two hours and a half. Actually, he accomplished a great win out of the field of 218 players with a big prize of $ 84,000. Sean Winter now earns a total of $ 106,560 from CPPT season II after a fourth place in Palm Beach and ninth in Reno. As we know, he ranked fourth in the CPPT 2014 biggest wins of the season. As a reminder, Sean Winter started the final table of this CPPT 2014 Bestbet Jacksonville poker tournament in the third position in terms of chips, behind Edward Gilfillan and Erik Christensen.

BPT Deauville: Mohamed Aissani won 48,000!
The Barrière Poker Tour Deauville ended Sunday with a victory of Mohamed AIssaini. 443 players participated in the Main Event, but the number of registered poker players increased up to 558 with 115 re-entry. A minimum gain of 1,180 and 71 cashes were guaranteed in this event. The bubble was reached very quickly on the Day 3. The fact is that only 92 players out of 246 ones who competed on Day 2 were able to secure their places in this former Hall of Ambassadors, now transformed into a poker room. Jean Christian Lucas was the bubble boy of the ITM. He did not leave the room empty-handed though. The Casino of Barrière Deauville offered him two nights stay at Le Normandy Hotel. As for Nabil Ben Yessef, he was the first player to leave the table with 1,180. And the game continued until the formation of the final table was set, but with 14 players.

CPPT Bestbet Jacksonville: Edward Gilfillan topping the list of the six survivors
The poker room of Bestbet Jacksonville in Florida has hosted the sixth stage of the season 2 of the Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) since May 1st. Twelve events have been organized, one after the other, at Bestbet Jacksonville. The most awaited event by players was the Main Event of $ 300,000 guaranteed prizepool for a buy-in of $ 1,500. As we know, the event began last Friday, May 9 with a total of 218 registered players. The six players who made up the final table were known on Sunday, May 11, at the end of the Day 2. In fact, 47 players took part in the qualifying table of the Day 2. Sean Hampson, the chipleader at the start of the game was the bubble boy of the ITM of 27 players. However, many high performance players such as Moses Clepper (19th), Timothy Miles (16th), Corey Burbick (13th), Zo Karim (11th) were eliminated in the race for the title.

GPI: Ole Schemion takes the second spot, Philipp Gruissem finishes third!
The Global Poker Index has released their Top 300 tournament poker players in the world in recent weeks. Significant changes were spotted. In the top 10 players of the GPI 300 in live poker tournament this week, Ole Schemion remains at the top of the standings with a comfortable lead over his nearest rival Scott Seiver (+1). Philipp Gruissem finished third (+35), followed by Vanessa Selbt (-2), Byron Kaverman (+2), Marvin Rettenmaier, Jason Mercier (-3), Dan Smith (-3), Mike McDonald (-1) and Stephen Chidwick (+14). The GPI 2013 POY title winner Ole Schemion remains in the contenders list in the hunt for his second title this year. Ranked second, he will challenge the Season XII WPT world Championship winner Keven Stammer.

New York: A new draft law on online poker to be adopted
The legal online gambling market in the State of New York will not be operational this year. But New York lawmakers seem to work actively on it so that gambling services will be available as soon as possible for bettors. After the introduction of an online poker Bill in the Senate of New York by the Republican Senator John Bonacic, another draft law on the same matter has just been introduced to the Assembly by Vernons Deputy J.Gary Pretlow. In fact, that Bill is similar to that introduced to the Senate. The said Bill authorizes New York Gaming Commission to distribute licenses to gambling operators wishing to operate variants of poker services that require certain level of skills like Omaha and Texas Holdem. In addition, that Bill which focuses on online poker game should also allow regulatory administration to subsequently provide a legal market within the State where online illegal games still hold a prominent place.

BPT Deepstack: The poker appointment of this weekend in Deauville!

IPO Casino di Campione2014: Victory of Carlo Sacinelli over Reto Locher!
Carlo Savinelli accomplished a great win in the Italian Poker Open poker tournament and added other 200,000 in his live tournament takings. On Wednesday afternoon, the three last survivors of the IPO joined Campione final table to continue the interrupted game of the previous day. Reto Locher began this final table of three players as chipleader with a comfortable stack of 49,800,000 chips against 33,600,000s for Carlo Savinelli and 13,100,000s for Antonio Smeraglia. Short stack of the final table, Antonio was unsurprisingly the first to head for the door. His third place allowed him though to gain 100,000.

The regional stage of the World Series Of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) in Blackhawk, Colorado, saw the victory of Eric Blair over Nicholas Petitti! With a very affordable buy-in of $ 1,675, the WSOPC Main Event which was held in The Lodge Casino poker room in Blackhawk gathered 330 participants. The field has generated a prize pool of $ 495,000 including Eric Blairs $ 116,325 and an all-in package for the WSOP National Championship 2014 which will take place in Ballys Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City, from May 22 to 24. Italian Poker Open 2014: Savinelli and Smeraglia in the hunt of the title!
Nine players went back to the poker room of Casino di Campione in Italy for the final table of the Italian Poker Open Main Event2014. As we know all, Virgilio Di Cicco was the best players who would have won the tournament at the beginning of the final table. However, he was prematurely eliminated, and left the title race to Locher Reto, Carlo Savinelli and Antonio Smeraglia. The game was interrupted on Tuesday evening, so the remaining three players will get back on the table Wednesday afternoon. Before the interruption, six players were eliminated.

Seven qualified women take part in the race for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. EPT Monte-Carlo: Patrick Bruel finished third, Miroslav Halilovic 11th!
Two French professional poker players have just accomplished great wins in the European Poker Tour 2014 held at Monte-Carlo Casino. The first of them is the famous singer Patrick Bruel. He finished third and pocketed 5,300 in the side event. It must be said that this high buy-in interestingly event gathered 187 participants. Thanks to this new performance, Bruel has embellished his bankroll with a nice sum of 93,350. The Irish man Dermot Blain won the first prize with 200,900. As for Aslan Daurov, he was awarded the second prize. WSOP Harrahs Philadelphia: Kyle Bowker wins the golden ring
The main event at $1,675 of the World Series Of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Harrahs Philadelphia ended on Monday with the victory of Kyle Bowker. This 31-year-old pro of poker has thus pocketed the first prize amounted at $115,920 and a place for the National Championship 2014. As a reminder, this event was held in the poker room of the Harrahs Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Chester, in the United States. It has gathered 336 participants, generating a prizepool of $504,000. At the dawn of the final table, it was Joe Kuther who was in the place of chipleader. WPTDeepStacks: A new circuit stemming from the association of WPT and DSPT
The World Poker Tour (WPT) and the DeepStacks Poker Tour (DSPT) have announced their association to create a new poker circuit named WPTDeepStacks. These two brands are known in the organization of prestigious poker tournaments. Each year, they visit the greatest cities of the world and attract the notables of the game. Some WPT and DSPT events are also subject of a televised broadcasting, and both brands have hired a team of professional commentators. According to the president of the WPT, Adam Pliska, this association could know nothing more than success. His counterpart from DSPT, Chris Torina, is also confident about the success of this partnership.
