UKIPT: Duncan MCLellan wins Nottingham title over 1,000 participants!
From May 7 to May 10, the Dusk Till Dawn Poker of Nottingham, in UK, hosted a stage of the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT). The UKIPT actually broke the attendance record of the season by gathering 1,223 players in the £ 1,100 buy-in Main Event. The guaranteed prizepool of £ 1,000,000 has definitely attracted many top players of live poker circuit such as Jake Cody, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Chris Moneymaker, Matthias Meulder, Liv Boeree, Julian Thew, Jonas Lauck, Raphael Wieczorek, Patrice Brandt, Ben Vinson and Jack Salter. This huge prizepool provided 183 payouts with a minimum win of £ 1,770. The local player Richard Evans was the first to be paid in this Nottingham UKIPT Main Event. However, some great poker players, including Jake Cody, Fatima Moreira De Melo, Patrice Brandt or Jonas Lauck were prematurely eliminated with a little gain while Liv Boeree, Matthias Meulder and many other players were heading for the door empty-handed.
The luckiest of those players was Duncan McLellan. He won the final table of the event which lasted a little less than four hours. It is thus his second title in the circuit of £ 202,237 after his victorious bet of November 2013 in UKIPT poker event, held in the island of Man. As for Angelo Milioto, he finished second and earned £ 143,728; he is followed by Trevor Pearson (£ 89,900). The chipleader of the game, Willie Elliot, was eliminated to rank fourth in the list but earned £ 67,000. After Nottingham, the season 4 of the UKIPT will be launched, paralleling the Estrellas Poker Tour in Marbella de Malaga in Spain, from June 11 to 15.
