Poker Rooms in Vegas Increasingly Smoke-Free
Poker rooms in casinos along the Strip in Las Vegas have begun a trend of banning smoking. The move to smoke-free poker began in 2001 when the Mirage and Bellagio resorts banned it in their poker rooms. Following suit, nearly every one of the Strip's foremost poker rooms has banned smoking. It seems that the move to ban smoking hasn't been bad for business, with several casinos, including Bellagio and Bally's, expanding poker room operations. Some have even predicted that the smoking ban is likely to take hold in poker rooms outside the Strip. For the time being, however, it seems that this is a phenomenon specific to poker rooms and casinos are not likely to go completely smoke-free.
