Party Poker Takes Steps Toward the Stock Exchange
PartyPoker, one of the biggest poker companies around, is allegedly considering a flotation on the London Stock Exchange. The Company has appointed the firms of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Investec Securities to help oversee strategic measures such as these. It has been reported that PartyPoker's placement within the FTSE 100 is likely. Despite the company's anticipated success, several major international banks have declined involvement, fearing action from American legal bodies. Although America constitutes PartyPoker's greatest market, the game's legal status there is doubtful. PartyPoker's poker sites comprise over half of the worldwide internet poker market. In addition to poker sites, the company also manages casino and bingo sites.
