Todd and Doyle Brunson Become First Father/Son Pair to Each Win WSOP Bracelets
This past Thursday marked WSOP history, with Doyle and Todd Brunson becoming the first father/son duo each to have captured WSOP bracelets. Todd Brunson took his first Gold bracelet while playing in last week's $2,500 buy-in Omaha High-Low event. His father, poker legend Doyle Brunson, on the other hand, has had multiple WSOP victories, including two championship wins. Upon hearing about his son's victory, Doyle reportedly called out his son's name, and when Todd looked up, Doyle took off his trademark cowboy hat and took a bow for his son. Todd, though still lingering somewhat in the shadow of his father's career, has already had wins in ten other major poker events. Only time will tell if this WSOP victory, and the many victories certainly on their way, will help Todd create a name for himself, separate from his father's accomplishments.
