Lorient held Lyon to a scoreless draw - Ligue 1- Football
In France, sports betting, namely on football matches, is getting back to a vibrant play-mode with the recent kick-off of the Ligue 1. The new season did not start off great for Olympique Lyonnais. Following its thorny 0-2 defeat to Paris SG in the "Trophée Des Champions" held in Montreal, Lyon has just seen itself in a compromising situation at Gerland. Hubert Fournier's men were held in a 0-0 draw by Lorient. Gerland's stadium was fully-packed on Sunday; sports betting enthusiasts, along with football fans were back on the spot for game predictions. Olympique Lyonnais actually failed to score 5 potential goals for 20 kicks. Yet, they dominated the game with 62% likelihood to win. Nabil Fekir had a lot of opportunity, but was unlucky enough to score one.
Admittedly, Lorient delivered a stunningly great defensive play on Sunday. The Britons were almost an inch away from the win at Gerland with Raphaël Guerreiro's epic kick saved by Samuel Umtiti (37th minute). The recently-traded Manchester United defender, Raphaëls, has been showing great games with OL. But things mirrored the other way round for last year Ligue 1's best scorer "Alexandre Lacazette" and "Claudio Beauvue". The expected complicity between both men hasn't been reached so far. Lacazette failed to serve his new teammate with great passes. It is worth mentioning that Lyon only scored one goal for 17 game appearances last year.
