The Seleção will play the quarterfinals without Neymar - Copa America
Brazil will continue the Copa America without Neymar. After his expulsion during the Brazil - Colombia match (1-0), the Seleção captain was sentenced to a four-game suspension for a clash with Jeison Murillo and an insult to the referee of the meeting, the Chilean Enrique Osses. Following this decision, the Brazilian Federation (CBF) announced that it will appeal. But in the end, it decided to abandon the pursuit. So, football fans and sports betting followers will not see the star of FC Barcelona in Chile until the end of the competition. Indeed, the Brazilian prodigy left on Monday the base camp of the Seleção in Santiago. For now, the absence of Neymar on the ground had no direct impact on the game of the Auriverdes. The mind of Dunga’s players is affected by this suspension of their star, but they still ensured their qualification for the quarterfinals of Sunday evening at Monumental stadium against Venezuela (2-1).
The Seleção will face Paraguay on Saturday in Concepcion. Prognosis on Brazil is quite uncertain after the first round that lacked conviction. Indeed, the Seleção undoubtedly lacked leader and many of its players have a quite fragile mental that cracks easily under pressure as we saw during the World Cup against Germany in the semifinals (1-7). This game will be a new challenge for the Seleção which will play again a key match without Neymar. Bettors expect this Saturday a hard-fought match and a more Brazil powerful than in the first round.
