Growth in online casino games maintained in May - New Jersey
The online gambling regulator of New Jersey has published figures for the month of May. If the market remains promising, growth was observed only in online casino games unlike poker that cannot get a place in the sector. Casino games generate thus almost the entire online gambling income of the State in May, $ 10.5 million against $ 1.92 million in online poker on a total income of $ 12.5 million. Online casino games have enabled the sector to gain 19.1% from a year to another. In May 2015, the income of online casino games has increased by almost 29% compared to the same month in 2014 while poker has lost more than 15.2% to $ 1.93 million against $ 2.27 million a year earlier. Note however that this drop in online poker turnover in May 2015 is one of the lowest in relation to each month of the year during which the decline represent at least 20%.
Borgata remains the leader in the casino gaming industry in New Jersey with a share of $ 3.96 million on total income. Caesars is second in May even though it has earned that $ 200,000 in online casino games and shows a loss of $ 27,000 in online poker. In one year, Golden Nugget recorded the best figure in May in online casino games. From one month to the next, the best performance goes to AC Resorts which won 50% of its turnover in April.
