Vannes Casino opened its doors on June 17th
The city of Vannes, on the south coast of Brittany, in France has just had its first casino. On Wednesday, June 17th evening, the hotel opened its door in temporary premises for two years. Twenty people, including players and curious, made the trip to attend this inaugural evening of Vannes casino at Parc du Golfe. An investment of € 800,000 has helped to transform the old room of the Ephémère in a new gaming room and a bar in a cozy atmosphere of a modern architecture. The former room of the Ephémère offers 65 slot machines and two game tables on a space of 550 m2. Visitors were able to play casino games, but also discover the new proposed restaurant and brasserie bar.
According to the director of the institution, David Robo, the casino is located on a provisional place which still required € 800,000 for its development. The final casino of € 15 million investment will open after 18 months and is located just in front of the current casino. The mayor of Vannes welcomes the outcome of the project that should allow the city to enjoy the same reputation as the city of Saint-Malo as congress city. 35 employees ensure the operation of the temporary casino, but that number will double at the end and the casino will give € 900,000 to € 1 million in municipal tax cash besides the € 50,000 provided by the Société bretonne d’exploitation des casinos to support associations and entertainment in the theater.
