Small increase of slot machine revenue in May - Pennsylvania
The casino market of Pennsylvania is still below the expectations of the State as reflected in the small increase it has recorded over one year. Slots games are the engine of casino industry in Pennsylvania despite the important number of players who spends time on table games. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the income of slot machines of the State casinos registered an increase of only 0.18% in May 2015 compared to the same period of 2014. 12 casinos operate currently within the State. In 12 months, slot machine games of these gambling facilities recorded an income of $ 211,219,908 in May 2015 against $ 210,830,676 in May 2014, an increase of 0.18%. These revenues are based on 26,382 slot machines last month against 26,417 a year earlier.
In recent years, Parx Casino dominates the slot machine market in Pennsylvania with a rise of 3.71% to $ 33,645,041 in May 2015. Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and Rivers Casino are also very competitive with a respective revenue of $ 26,615,879 (-0.12%) and $ 24,319,720 (+ 1.45%). Behind them, we find Philadelphia Harrah's Casino and Racetrack with an income of $ 19,915,241 (+ 2.16%), followed by Meadows Racetrack and Casino with $ 19,605,189 (-6.49%), Mohegan Sun Pocono with $ 19,217,629 (-2.98%), Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course with 19,039,954 $ (-0.74%), Sugarhouse Casino with $ 15.521.910.77 (-1.24%), Mount Airy Casino Resort with $ 12,838,631 (+ 1.02% ), Presque Isle Downs and Casino with $ 10,461,304 (-5.78%), Valley Forge Casino Resort with $ 7,402,271 (+ 14.16%) and Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin with $ 2,637,133 (+ 14.32%).
