Negreanu and McClelland are now Poker Hall of Famers
Talented Daniel Negreanu and poker tournament director Jack McClelland Poker have just been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame this year. Indeed, the World Series of Poker recently released the names of 10 finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame. After a vote by the governing council of this very selective group, consisting of 21 PHF active members and 20 journalists, Daniel Negreanu and McClelland were chosen over Mike Matusow, Ted Forrest, Humberto Brenes, Huck Seed, Jennifer Harman, Bob Hooks, Chris Bjorin and Frenchman Bruno Fitoussi. With this new induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland become the 47th and 48th members. Hence, they follow the footpath of Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen who found themselves inducted in 2013.
Daniel Negreanu was elected in his first appointment. The 40 year-old Canadian poker players is a great icon in the poker industry; his overall earnings now total $30 million, plus six WSOP bracelets and two WPT titles. His career achievements are such that he was crowned WSOP Player of the Year twice. As for Jack McClelland, the 63 year-old entrepreneur is a renowned personality in poker business as the WSOP tournament director in the year 1980s. Though he retired last year, his contribution in promoting poker has just been rewarded. As is the tradition, the induction ceremony of the two new members of the Poker Hall of Fame will take place at Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, November 9, on the eve of the November Nine event (final table of the WSOP Main Event). Recall that the November Nine event is held in the poker room of Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
