Byron Kaverman jumps up to 2nd position - Global Poker Index
Verdicts from the recently-completed World Poker Tour (WPT) National London and the WPT Choctaw are in. Yet, the overall Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings show no significant change. In the Top 10, USAs Jason Mercier secures the drivers set with a total score of 4,057 points. Byron Kaverman is right behind at 2nd position. He is actually one of the biggest movers this week. Among his biggest achievements in the past couple of weeks include a 3rd place finish at the Bellagio Cup, a poker tournament held in late July. Kaverman has jumped over 6 spots to secure 2nd position in the rankings.
His compatriot, Scott Seiver, is currently ranked 3rd. Only a few dozen points keep him away from reaching Kaverman. As for Anthony Zinno, he sees himself plummeted down to 4th while the British poker pro Stephen Chidwick is stuck at 5th. Dan Smith, Belgiums Kitai Davivi and Bryn Kenney are among the ones who drop down this week. They are currently ranked 6th, 7th and 8th position respectively. Paul Volpe remains in 9th and Dario Sammartino 10th. Sorel Mizzi, for his part, has stepped away from the Top 10 to 15th position. Just like him, Frances top-ranked poker pro Benjamin Pollak, joins the weeks biggest drops. He fell down from 39th to 55th position overall. As far as the 2015 Player of The Year standing is concerned, Anthony Zinno remains atop the leaderboard. Mike Gordinsky and Brian Hastings respectively sit on 2nd and 3rd position.
