Claudio Moya crowned Champion - Latin American Poker Tour Peru Main Event
Chile native Claudio Moya came up being the last man standing at the 2015 Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Peru Main Event. The field was composed of 366 poker players, all setting their hearts to the top payday at Atlantic City Casino in Lima. Finishing first-place of the $ 2,500 buy-in tournament, Claudio Moya was awarded the largest share of the prize pool, a whopping $ 135,576 prize. He actually entered the final day as a chip leader but gradually lost a pretty good amount of his chips. Talented yet lucky he is, Moya successfully managed to keep his head up high and made it through the 10-hour final table. He met Lebanons Shadi Moustapha in the heads-up. The eventual runner-up had a relatively great chip advantage over Moya at some actions away from finish but it was the Chile native who sealed the win. Moustapha was awarded $ 120,000 of consolation prize. The other final-tablists of the 2015 LAPT Peru Main Event are Daniel Ramirez, Cristian Aceiton Ruiz, Marcus Martinez, Helio Neves, Jose Lli and Ricardo Chauriye.
It is also worth mentioning that the 2015 World Series of Poker Asia Pacific champ, Scott Davies, was in attendance at this LAPT Peru stop. He captured the win in the $ 5,000 buy-in High Roller Event by besting a player field of 37 entrants. Two former LAPT champions, namely Alex Manzano and Mario Lopez also delivered great performances in Peru. The first emerged victorious of the $ 200 buy-in OLP poker tournament while the latter won the $ 600 buy-in NLHE Deepstack Turbo.
