Ourgame acquired the World Poker Tour franchise - Live Tournament
As reported in a statement released last weekend, Chinas gaming giant Ourgame International Holdings acquired one of the worlds biggest poker franchise, the World Poker Tour (WPT) for $ 35 million. With over 70 poker tournaments run every year in major cities across the planet, namely in North America, Asia and Europe, the WPT can be described as a premium poker brand with a continiously-growing potential. Listed among the poker franchises most successful festivals are the WPT Regional, WPT Alpha8, WPT National and the WPT Deep Stacks. According to Ourgames CEO, Frank Ng, the company is really proud of this new acquisition, and is ready to pay the sum for it.
May we remind you that the sale agreement was concluded between Bwin Entertainment, owner of the WPT business since 2009, and Ourgame in December 2014. Prior to the deal, both gaming operators have reportedly established certain coolaborative support when the WPT run its national stops in Asia, namely in China and South Korea. With this freshly-signed deal, Ourgame, a Beijing-based gaming operator since 1998, can now turn its dear ambition to become Chinas No.1 gaming services provider into a reality. Ditto for its dream to hit international gaming market. Its close link with the WPT Enterprises for about three years has somewhat helped the company reached its objective. Anyway, Ourgame has significantly contributed to the development of the industry and poker fans can now expect much more satisfying services with the upcoming WPT circuit.
