Angelina Rich, the last yet first woman standing at MSPT - MSPT 2015
For the first time in the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT)s history, it was a woman who sealed the tours win. It is about Angelina Rich, a female poker player who has just discovered her genuine talent in the game. In fact, Rich can be described as a sophomore in the game and surprisingly, this time, she made a truly impressive performance. Most notable feat prior to this incredible victory was his 1st-place finish at the 2015 Aussie Millions Event # 12, the $ 1,650 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Bounty. Radiant, the freshly-crowned champion said that she first played the game of poker a year and a half ago; and thanks to the support of her friends, all poker pros, she went ahead for an amazing achievement. Crivell Patrick, her boyfriend Alex Lynskey and Jordan Westmorland are part of them. Rich also said she made the trip to Las Vegas to take part in the MSPT series. For now, she is hoping to do the same in the WSOP Main Event through a satellite event. Only time will tell if she would make it once again at Rio All Suite.
Held from June 1 to 5, the MSPT was run in conjunction with the World Series of Poker. The battle took place in the poker room of The Venetian, in Las Vegas. It has attracted a record-breaking field of 1,946 entrants, generating a gigantic prize pool of $ 1,964,000. Notables running in contention for the title included Spains Sergio Aido (he finished 6th-place), Martin Fonger, Poorya Nazari, Jake Cody and Matt Salasberg. Following a deal and some knotty actions, Rich surged towards the title. She was awarded $ 215,815. Next up for another MSPT stop will be held at Meskwaki Casino in Tama (Iowa) from July 18 to 26.
