Dzmitry Urbanovich secures the POY drivers seat - GPI
This weeks Global Poker Index 2015 Player of The Year ranking has just been released and there is almost no change spotted. In fact, the GPI overall rankings saw minor quake in the past seven days. The 2015 POY top 8 remains the same as last week with Dzmitry Urbanovich securing the lead for 10th consecutive week. Any way, the Top 10 is seeing a new entrant, Atanas Kavrakov, thanks to his freshly-acquired trophy at the World Poker Tour National Cyprus last week. So far, the calm still reigns, but not that long since the upcoming 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will be underway soon, the results from which will surely shake the whole GPI standings up. Other major poker tournaments held in the coming week will also impact the rankings.
As for the Global Poker Index (GPI) Top 300 live tournament poker players rankings, the leaderboard has undergone small change with Ole Schemion reclaiming the lead ahead of talented poker pro Scott Seiver. By sitting on top, Schemion has put an end to Seivers four-week leading streak. Another noticeable ascension is that of Mustapha Kanit who entered the GPI 300 Top 10, a relatively great achievement owed to his Super High Roller win at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monaco, along with a number of final-table finishes on online poker platforms. New faces on the GPI Top 300 include the Mover of the week Marco Della Tommasino. By winning the WPT National Cyprus Main Event last week, Marco has jumped up 48 spots to finish 286th on the rankings.
