Daniel Swartz crowned Champion - Hollywood Poker Open Columbus Regional
The Day 2 battle was a hard-fought one, and the final flight grueling, but nothing seemed to stop Daniel Swartz from winning the 2015 Hollywood Poker Open Columbus Regional Main Event. Recall that the $ 1,115 buy-in poker tournament attracted 294 entrants, generating a prize pool of $ 294,000. At the end of Day 1A, Swartz secured the lead heading to the next phase. Persevere, Swartz would successfully make it through the final table with notable poker pros as rivals. As for Doug Holland and Ken Moore, both men failed to keep pace. Admittedly, the ultimate day was an action-packed race. It would take only a few hands to get 5 final-tablists hit the rail. Dean Schultz was the first to leave the table.
Patrick Smith, David Ross and Jeff Russell followed him shortly thereafter. The final days chipleader Stephen Siska fall to 5th place as he failed to grab a big pot against Swartz. Then Ryan Austin was sent to the 4th place rail. After Iverson Snuffers elimination (3rd place), Swartz and Pupillo would battle it out for the heads-up. Though clothing himself with a humiliating Heartland Poker Tour East Chicago trophy, Nick Pupillo did not weigh much facing Swartz. Runner-up of the event, Pupillo pocketed $ 43,512. As for the 1st-place finisher Swartz, he was awarded $ 70,560. Apart from the top prize, he was also given a pass to the upcoming $ 2,500 buy-in HPO Championship, which will be held in Las Vegas.
