The Main Event kicks off this Saturday - Hollywood Poker Open Columbus
It's been a few days now since the last stop of the Hollywood Poker Open (HPO) is run at the Hollywood Casino, in Collombus (Ohio/USA). As for its $ 1,115 buy-in $ 100,000 Guarantee Main Event, the battle will kick off on Saturday May 23. Of course, it is the flagship event of this HPO Columbus. Interestingly, the eventuall winner will be awarded, alongside the top prize, a seat to the forthcoming $ 2,500 buy-in HPO Championship Event to be held at the M Resort Spa Casino- Las Vegas in June. Recall that this $ 2,500 poker tournament is the season-ending event of the HPO. Ambassador of the HPO, the 2003 World Series of Poker champion Chris Moneymaker will be part of the pack.
Admittedly, this last stop of the HPO has lured many Columbus-based poker enthusiasts into attractions. They are expected to secure a great part of the pack to the Main Events final table. May we remind you that last year, the HPO Columbus attracted a record-breaking field of 126 entries with Joey Couden sealing the win. The HPO has built an ever-increasing popularity among regulars and poker pros as well. Optimistic, HPOs chairman, Bill Bruce, expects to break the previous HPO Columbus attendance rate record. From May 22, an action-packed range of satellite tournaments will take place, allowing the lucky ones to qualify for the Main Event. The $ 235 buy-in NL Hold'em Deepstack is among the schedule.
