Christophe Enrici won the kick-off event - Card Player Poker Tour St-Maarten 2015
The kick-off event of the Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) Season III held in the Caribbean concluded this weekend with Christophe Enrici claiming the top payday. It is about the Inaugural $ 1,650 buy-in CPPT St. Maarten $ 200,000 Prize-Pool Guaranteed Main Event which attracted 138 players. The battle actually took place in the poker room St.Maartens Casino Royale. After four days of competition, only 9 players would make it through the final table. Day 1A chip leader Mark Stephen Edwards was the first final-tablist to hit the rail. His 9th-place finish allowed him to grab home $ 4,360 of prize though. As for Day 1B chip leader Mark Gregorich, he fell to 8th place for $ 5,470.
Gregorichs elimination was followed by that of Louis Pfaff (7th, $ 6,960), Myriam Mehnana (6th, $ 9,010) and former CPPT champion Allyn Shulman (5th, $ 11,850). Shulman admittedly had a greater chance for a title repeat of his $ 5,000 buy DeepStacks CPPT Venetian Main Event win. Against his will, he could only reach the 5th floor. As Tommie Janssen and Andrew Fair fell respectively to 4th and 3rd place for $ 15,860 and $ 31,000, the track got pretty wider for local players Benichou Paul and Christophe Enrici to tee themselves off in the heads-up. At the end of the battle, it was Enrici Christophe who emerged victorious for $ 37,950. Runner-up, Benichou Paul headed to exit with $ 31,000 of cash.
