Ward qualified for the Day 2, Elky eliminated - APPT Seoul
Paradise Walkerhill casino of Seoul is welcoming now the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) season 9 poker tournament. Its main event began with a field of 116 players. As a reminder, this is the largest poker tournament ever held in South Korea and has attracted renowned players. Among other; there are poker stars as Bestrand Grospellier alias Elky, who lived in Seoul for a few years. Unfortunately, he was eliminated very soon. It is the same with regard to the two European Poker Tour champions, David Vamplew and Ben Wilinofsky. Note that only 44 players will have the privilege to play back on day 2 which kick off is scheduled for Saturday, April 11. Leading the pack, there are Alex Ward. He has 133,800 chips in hand. The Canadian Tyler Jennes follow him in second place with 101,900 chips in his possession.
The Chinese Lu Yunye completes the top 3 with a stack of 101,100. The defending champion, Chane Kampanatsanyakom is also part of the competitors for the second day. However, he should do much more if he want to be able to stay in the race as he finished Day 1A with 17,100 chips in hand. The Chinese Yaxi Zhu, considered as a rising star, will also be there. As a reminder, Zhu has risen in the ranks of poker professionals in February 2014 after having lifted the HK $ 2,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament trophy of the Asia Championship of Poker. Since then, she has achieved numerous ITM. The Day 1B of the APPT Seoul takes place this Friday, April 10 at noon.
