Towards its extension in large scale - Global Poker Masters
The success of the Global Poker Masters made emerged a big idea near the owner of the Global Poker Index (GPI), Alexandre Dreyfus. Always ready to carry out ambitious projects, he now offers a new team competition which will include several steps including the Global Poker League (GPL). Alexandre Dreyfus provided new information about this unique poker tournament of its kind. To begin with, he said that a budget of 3 to 5 million dollars will be devoted to the realization of this crazy project. Still according to him, eight franchises will be created and each will include seven players. For each team, the five members will be selected from a draft while the two others will qualify through live or online poker tournaments.
The first GPL season of ten weeks will take place over a period of about four months and will be integrated with other events such as the Global Poker Masters. The stages will be live streaming broadcasted on Twich. The kickoff of the first edition of the GPL is expected to take place between August and September. As for size, the boss of the GPI has not wanted to provide details about it. He thinks it is still early to talk about this kind of thing.
