Dimitry Urbanovich comes up on top of 2015 POY race - Global Poker Index
The Global Poker Index rankings have experienced a considerable up-and-down movement this week with the ongoing European Poker Tour Malta festival. By finishing 1st-place in the EPT Malta 25,000 High Roller event, Dzmitry Urbanovich is now listed 1st on the current GPI Player of the Year standing. He earns 16 spots and subsequently relegates Scott Seiver to 5th position. Joe Kuether remains No#2. The POY Top 10 now sees Nicholas Petrangelo in 3rd (+ 2), Connor Drinan 4th, (+10), Scott Seiver 5th (-4), Taylor Paur 6th (+1), Ivan Luca 7th (-4), Ramin Hajiyev 8th (+ 8), Anthony Zinno 9th ( -5) and Vladimir Dobrovolskiy 10th ( -4). Thanks to a 2nd-place finish in the EPT Malta High Roller poker tournament, Connor Drinan enters the Top 10 as one of the weeks biggest movers.
As for the GPI Top 300, Ole Schemion claims the lead for 14 weeks now. The Top 5 also remains the same as last week with Scott Seiver on second position, followed by Davidi Kitai (3rd), Pratyush Buddiga (4th) and Jason Mercier (5th). Daniel Negreanu (5th) is ahead of Stephen Chidwick (6th) while Bryn Kenney, Byron Kaverman and Sorel Mizzi respectively complete the list. Daniel Dvoress (277th) hits the best performance this week. He won 290 spots thanks to a sweet 3rd-place finish in the EPT Malta High Roller event. Jesse Rockowitz is listed 288th with 247 spots by securing runner-up at the World Poker Tour Rolling Thunder event. Oleksii Khoroshenin dropped the furthest this week with 56 spots lost. French poker notable Bertrand Grospellier also lost 36 spots this week.
