Max Silver grabbed the biggest stack at the end of Day 1B - EPT Malta
While 260 players enrolled themselves for the European Poker Tour (EPT) Malta Main Event on Day 1A, Day 1 B battle was an exception, seeing 627 entrants. The total number of participants in this poker tournament is now 887. Massive as this field is, it would generate a prize pool of 4,435,000. This cash figure is expected to reach a much higher level since every participant is allowed to re-enter before the Day 2 flight is officially launched. At the end of the day, UKs Max Silver came out on top of the chip count with 176,100 chips. Actually, 380 players would join the panel of 142 survivors of Day 1A. Completing the Top 10 of Day 1B chip count are Kyle Hendry (155,000), Nir Levy (150,000), Matthew Rodriguez (139,700), Rudolf Zintel (135,000), Moritz Dietrich (135,000), Sam Trickett (134,900), Dias Bernardo (131,800), Gilbert Diaz (130,800) and Ori Miller (130,000).
Many players from Maltas neighborings would also find themselves qualified for the next phase of the Main Event. Andrea Cortellazzi is heading to Day 2 with 129,000 chips. Andreas fellows Filippo Lazzaretto (106,600), Andrea Benelli (106,000), Gianluca Escobar (80,700), Stefano Terziani ( 61,200), Davide Marchi (45,600), Sergio Castelluccio (42,300) and Giuliano Bendinelli (44,500) are also among those making it through Day 2. Speaking of French players, Sylvain Loosli, Matthew Rodriguez, Yannick Bonnet, Rémi Castaignon and Philippe Ktorza remain in the race, while Patrick Bruel, Paul-François Tedeschi, Benjamin Pollak and William Diaz fail to do so.
