56 players make it through Day 4 - EPT Malta Main Event
The European Poker Tour Malta (EPT) is in full swing in the poker room of Portomaso Casino. Three days are now gone by, and the Main Event is playing its Day 4 this Thursday with 56 survivors in the race. Of the 186-player field on Day 3, only these 56 are qualified for the next battle. After five 90-minute level of play, Javier Gomez bagged up a huge stack of 1,698,000 chips to lead the pack. By Gomezs side are four other players, all armed with over 1 million in chips: Valentin Messina (1,362,000), Alexander Ivarsson (1,199,000), Jorma Nuutinen (1,121,000) and Manuel Zapf (1,086,000). Another panel of players are also entering Day 4 with much confidence. Include the likes of Bruno Volkmann (903,000), Sergio Aido (833,000), Andrea Cortellazzi (799,000), Glib Kovtunov (744,000) and Nir Levy (719,000).
127 players have made the money, 71 of whom were sent to the rail grabbing some parts of the 4,340,750-prize pool. This panel includes the 2nd-place finisher at the 25,000 buy-in EPT Malta High Roller, Connor Drinan, the reigning World Series of Poker champion Martin Jacobson and a number of notable poker gurus, including Dan Smith, Olivier Busquet, Griffin Benger, Sorel Mizzi, Jonathan Duhamel, Benny Spindler and Sam Trickett. The game resumes this Thursday to play down to 16 with other five 90-minute levels on the menu.
