Randy Pfeifer won the $ 5,700 buy-in Event #5 - Western New York Poker Challenge
Niagara Falls poker room has been vibrating under the festive rhythms of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge since last week. The $ 50 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em (Event #5) has seduced a record-breaking field. 1,026 players were recorded during the three starting days of the battle, all having their hearts set on the top prize. The pack generated a prize pool of $ 41,040. Of the 1,026-player field, 63 would make the money, with $ 148 of prize for the 63th-place finisher and $ 9,234 for the eventual winner. After four days of battle, it was Randy Pfeifer who proudly emerged victorious of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge Event # 5 as he crushed the 199 poker players who made it through the final day. Shayne Shackelford was the chip leader at the start of Day 2. However, he failed to keep his own rhythm and fell to 49th place for $ 160.
Randy Pfeifer came a long way to secure the lead on the ultimate day as many players would find themselves sit on the chip counts driver seat. Finishing 10th place, Keith Mueller headed to the rooms exit for $ 644 of cash. Then he was later joined by Tom Guidon (9th, $ 821), Aleksandras Fedorenka (8th, $ 1,026), Don Ranalli (7th, $ 1,231) and Yong Wolfer (6th, $ 1,465). The 5 remaining players would take a 10-minute break before entering the final table. Actually, they agreed on a deal, seeing Randy Pfeifer cashed $ 5,700 for his win, and runner-up Ray Espinosa with $ 5,000 as consolation prize. As for Brandon Louvier, Kimlong Trieu and Jeff Klein, they pocketed $ 4,177 each.
