The awards ceremony will be held on March 25 in Malta - European Poker Awards
Poker enthusiasts in Europe will celebrate the 14th edition of the European Poker Awards in the next couple of weeks, a ceremony run in conjunction with the Malta EPT Malta. While the GPI Player of the Year and GPI Female Player of the Year will surely be given to Ole Schemion and Liv Boeree, the award-winners of the 11 remaining categories will only be known during the ceremony to be held at Hilton Hotel in St. Julian's on March 25, 2015. Anyway, the names of all nominees in these categories have already been unveiled. Speaking of the Breakout Player of the Year, the nominees are George Danzer, Dominik Panka, Oliver Price and Jack Salter. As for the Tournament Performance of the Year, it sees the likes of talented female poker player Victoria Coren Mitchell, Martin Jacobson, Davidi Kitai and Dominik Panka as potential award-grabber.
Well-placed poker tournaments of over $ 2,000 buy-in that are likely to claim an award (Event of the Year) are the Battle of Malta, Estrellas Poker Tour Barcelona, Eureka Poker Tour Prague, and Dusk Till Dawns WPT500. Those with less than $ 2,000 of buy-in are represented by the EPT Barcelona Main Event, EPT Prague Main Event, EPT Vienna Main Event, and the Master Classics of Poker Amsterdam. Poker Innovation or Initiative of the Year nominees are Winamax Pokers Espresso, PokerStarss Shark Cage, Unibet, and the WPT500. As for the Charitable Initiative of the Year, in the race are the Helping Hands Charity Tournament , REG charity, Right to Play, and the WPT UK Charity Raffle. The hunt for the Industry Person of the Year award is led by Hermance Blum, followed by Edgar Stuchly, Leon Tsoukernik, and Rob Young. Giovanni Angioni, Marc Convey, Lee Davy and Remko Rinkema are the potential award-winners for the Media Person of the Year. And finally, the big contenders for the Poker Media Content of the Year are the EPT Live Commentary, Nosebleeds Victor Saumont, Neil Stoddarts Photography, and Remko Rinkemas Videography. Oddly, the winners of the Pokers Best Ambassador along with the Award for Lifetime Achievement In Poker will be unveiled during the ceremony.
