Peter Tran leads the 43 survivors to Day 4 - WPT LAPC 2015
120 players returned to The Commerce Casino on Monday afternoon for the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic 2015 Main Events Day 3. When the day ended, Peter Tran finished on top of the chip count by amassing 1,369,000 chips. He is one of the three poker players to wrap Day 3 up with a seven-digit stack. Mike Leah is second (in chip count) with 1,185,000 chips, and Peter Neff, being third, with 1,034,000 in chips. Though Mike Leah struggled hard to emerge from the battle, he managed to garner 1.1 million chips in half-an-hour play from 280,000 chips in hands. Completing the chip counts Big 10 are Curt Kohlberg (990,000), Edward Ochana (831,000), Greg Mueller (695,000), Brent Hart (596,000), Kyle Johnson (584,000), Yegor Tsurikov (549,000) and Eddy Sabat (460,000).
Of the 120 players on Day 3, only 43 would make it through Day 4, including five notable LAPC title holders: Daniel Negreanu, Scott Seiver, Shawn Buchanan, Erik Seidel and WPT Player of the Year leader Anthony Zinno. Interestingly, half of Day 3s player-field (60 players) made the money in this event. Adam Friedman (61st), Gordon Vayo (60th), Ryan Laplante (58th), David Tuthill (57th), Ryan Fee (52nd), Matt Waxman (48th), Darren Elias (46th) and Bryce Yockey (45th) are among the notable players who secured in the money places. As for JC Tran, Marvin Rettenmaier, Joe Hachem and 2013 LAPC champion Paul Klann, they all stepped out of The Commerce Casino poker room beaten and empty-handed. The game will resume this Tuesday with five full 90 minutes levels of play.
