Brent Hart leads the pack to Day 3 - LA Poker Classic 2015
The World Poker Tours LA Poker Classic kicked off last Saturday at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. 503 players participated in this $ 10,000 buy-in event, all targeting ITM places in the Main Event. Interestingly, players were given an opportunity to register until Level 9 to Day 2, increasing the total field to 538 players. 120 entrants made it through Day 2 with Brent Hart on top of the chip count. He will be entering the next battle with 487,900 in chips, a notable chip advantage of 100,000 over his nearest rival Kamran Michael (387,400 chips). The pack heading to Day 3 includes Max Mashour (366,300), Ken Aldridge (355,900), Dylan Hortin (346,600), Pratik Ghatge (306,200), Peter Neff (303,800), William Miner (298,500), Matthew Diehl (290,500) and Niall Farrell (286,000).
A number of notable poker players are also qualified for Day 3 battle; among them are Daniel Negreanu, Igor Kurganov, JC Tran, Mike Leah, Matt Berkey, Curt Kohlberg, Darren Elias, Joe Hachem, David Baker, David Tuthill and Connor Drinan. This poker tournament actually sets 63 In The Money places. Indeed, the first to leave the final-of-9 table will be awarded a six-digit score; as for the first-place finisher, he/she will get home with $ 1,000,460 in hands, along with a gold Monster 24K headphones, a Hublot watch and a WPT package of $ 15,400 in the upcoming WPT Championship. Day 2 was a bad day for Chris Moorman. The defending LAPC champion failed to qualify for the next phase, as the hundreds other players did at the end of Day 2.
