No to Deauville, Yes to Cannes and the Southern and Eastern Europe - EPT

The Director-General of casino operations at Groupe Barrière, Eric Cavillon, has officially confirmed that Deauville is no longer included in the upcoming European Poker Tour (EPT) schedule. While Deauville has been erased from the agenda, Cannes will always play host to the World Poker Tour National from May 28 to 31 at Croisette Casino Barriere. This will be the last poker tournament of international scale in France this year as the World Series of Poker Europe left Enghien-les-Bains to Berlin. Due to the declining attendance and binding rules on taxation, the organizers decided to turn their backs on the French market and head to other countries in Southern and Eastern Europe. And it really makes sense that Malta has been introduced into the 2015 EPT Schedule. Malta will run its very first EPT event in a month.

For its part, the WPT has made further steps to the East. Following the WPT Kazakhstan in 2014, the WPT has partnered with Europe-bet and Live Events International groups to launch the WPT National in the capital city of Georgia in June and December 2015. Tbilisi will also play host to the WPT Champions Cup in November. Besides, the partnership will lead to the running of the WPT National Budva, in Montenegro. This event will kick off this weekend until March 1st. Italy will also be abuzz with the WSOP Circuit scheduled in September, in the poker room of Casino Campione.
