Martin Jacobson crowned Player of the Year and Best Poker Ambassador - Sweden
Swedish e-poker giant Poker.se has been awarding the best poker players in Sweden for six years now. The award categories include the (live poker) Player Of the Year, Online Player Of the Year, Best Poker Ambassador and the Rookie Of the Year. Thanks to his stunning victory at the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event, Martin Jacobson garnered 80% of votes, a fairly winning percentage crowing himself Player of the Year in Sweden. As a reminder, the talented Swedish poker player cashed $ 10 million for his 45th annual WSOP (Las Vegas) win, an event held last July. Martin Jacobsons career achievement now includes 5 titles (2010 ANZPT II, 2013 WPT National Dublin, 2013 EPT London, 2014 EPT Vienna and the 2014 WSOP), more than 25 final-table finishes and many other ITM places. All of these feats allow him to amass total career earnings of $ 14.9 million.
Indeed, Martin Jacobson has just joined the likes of Robin Ylitalo (2013), Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (2009 and 2012), Chris Bjorin (2010) and Alexander Anter (2011) for the POY Sweden. Besides, Jacobson has also been named Best Poker Ambassador. For the two other awards, it was with 63% of voting that Mikael "punting-peddler" Thuritz found himself named Online Poker Player Of the Year. Thuritz is a highly skilled Mixed-Game player. His earnings now amount to nearly $ 2.6 million. Robin "BigMeech99" Colbin has been named The Rookie Of the Year with 41% of votes against 29% for Simon Mattson. May we remind you that Colbin won Triple Crown three-time straight in January 2014.
