591 players join the battle - EPT Deauville 2015 Main Event
Casino Barrière in Deauville is playing host to the European Poker Tour Deauville 2015. The Main Event promises to be exciting with a total field of 591 players registered during the two starting days of the festival. In fact, Day 1A brought together 199 live poker tournament players while Day 1B recorded 392, bringing the total field to 591 players. In comparison with last years 671, there is a slight decrease in terms of participation. Any way, Nathan Gozlan is the chip leader of the first starting day with 148,500 chips while Guillaume Darcourt leads the whole pack heading to Day 2. Hitting the rail so early are Quentin Lecomte, Tom Jarry, Arnaud Mattern and many other skilled players. Only 108 players would return to Casino Barrière after eight 75-minute levels of play on Day 1A. Robert Schulz, Anton Wigg, Alexander Ivarsson, Franck Kalfon, Adeniya Martin, Benjamin Buhr, Dimitar Danche, David Vamplew and Jan-Eric Schwippert, for their part, make it through the next phase.
Of the 392 poker enthusiasts who entered Day 1B, only 227 remain in the race with Guillaume Darcourt leading the chip count leaderboard (167,800 chips). Jan Heitmann, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Rémi Castaignon, Ilan Boujenah, Clément Genon, David Jaoui, Damien Lhommeau, Lucien Cohen, Kevin McPhee and Marcin Wydrowski made up the chip counts Top 10. Heading to Day 2 battle also include a number of local stars of poker such as Jean-Philippe Rohr, Anthony Picault, Erwann Pécheux, Moundir, Philippe Ktorza and Fabrice Soulier. Unlucky enough, many other notable players fail to qualify for Day 2. Bruno Lopez, Sylvain Loosli, Davidi Kitai, Sofia Lovgren, Bruno Fitoussi, Sotirios Koutoupas and Nicolas Le Floch are part of them.
