Ryan Dodge beat Mikael Koistinen to win the Event # 5 - Aussie Millions 2015
Ryan Dodge has just won the Pot Limit Omaha Event at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship 2015. This $ 1,150 buy-in event has attracted 244 players, nine of whom reached the final table. And it was highly talented poker guru Ryan Dodge who ultimately emerged victorious of the race. Indeed, the Event #5 of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship 2015 has seduced a wide panel of internationally-famed poker players. Ditto for the Main Event (which will kick off in a few days). These notables include Joseph Cheong, Ami Barer, Dan Heimiller, Mel Judahet and Billy Argyros. However, they all failed to reach the final table.
Ryan Dodge entered the final table with a truly impressive chip advantage over his opponents. His stack totaled nearly the double of what his nearest rival had. Danny Chevalier was the first to wave bye bye. He was sent to the rail in 9th place. As a consolation prize, he was awarded a check of $ 6,250. Simon Thwaites joined him afterwards (8th, $ 8,130), followed by Michael Cook (7th, $ 10,630), Scott Hamilton-Hill (6th, $ 13,130), David Wang (5th, $ 15,630), Don Mishra (4th, $ 18,755) and Phillip Siddell (3rd, $ 23,260). This last elimination somewhat allowed Ryan Dodge to meet Mikael Koistinen in the heads-up. Ryan Dodge began the face-to-face play with a 2 to 1 chip advantage over Mikael. It did not take long for Dodge to kick him out. As a reward, he grabbed home the $ 65,050 first-place prize along with a championship ring. Mikael Koistinen would console himself with $ 41,265 as the runner-up of this $ 1,150 buy-in poker tournament.
