Vic Spadavecchia emerged victorious of the Opening Event - Aussie Millions 2015
The first golden bracelet at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship 2015 founded a lucky taker yesterday night. Vic Spadavecchia actually wins the $ 1,150 buy-in Opening Event by beating Derek Wolters in the heads-up. Recall that he bested a super massive 1,211 player field to cash the $ 215,000 first-place prize in this poker tournament. On Monday, 15 players battled it out for the final table. Unlucky enough, Brendan Rubie failed to reach the final table but stuck as the bubble boy (10th place). In the hunt for the title were 9 finalists including Andrew Hinrichsen, Robert Spano, Robert Raymond, Vic Spadavecchia, Amer Akkari, Derek Wolters, Camil Debsia, George Tang and Don Mishra. 2011 WSOP Europe bracelet winner Andrew Hinrichsen was the chip leader at the start of the final table.
Robert Spano was the first player to get off the ultimate race. He walked away with $ 21,000. Few hands later, Camil Debsia joined him for $ 32,000. Don Mishra (7th, $ 44,000), Robert Raymond (6th, $ 57,000) and George Tang (5th, $ 72,000) hit the rail afterwards. After the dinner break, chip leader Andrew Hinrichsen unwillingly quitted the table for $ 92,000. Then Vic Spadavecchia had Amer Akkari ($ 117,000) fallen to 3rd place to meet Derek Wolters in the heads-up. With a modest 2 to1 chip advantage, Spadavecchia dominated the man-on-man battle, though at some point, he had lost the chip lead. Alongside the top prize, Vic Spadavecchia has also been awarded a championship gold ring and a Rolex watch courtesy of LK Boutique. It is still worth noting that the previous edition was won by talented poker player Mustapha Kanit while the 2013Aussie Millions Opening Event saw Rupert Elder as a winner.
